Poughkeepsie PD K-9 Missing in Town of Lloyd

On Monday June 16, 2014 at about 8:30pm the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department newest Police K-9 has gone missing. The dog was to be fed when he was apparently distracted by a deer and gave chase. The dog was last seen in the area of Upper North Rd in Highland (Town of Lloyd).

Multiple agencies and citizens alike have searched the area since the dog disappeared. The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department would like to ask anyone with information on the whereabouts of our dog to please phone the Town of Lloyd Police Department as soon as possible at (845) 691-6102.

The dog answers to “Falcone” named for fallen officer Detective John Falcone. The dog is a 17 month old German shepherd and should be wearing a brown collar.

Next time anyone shops at Lowes, expecially the Highland store, think about this.

It appears the writer of the following article was posting flyers up and down Rt 299 in Highland regarding K9 Officer Falcone. This is Lowes stance on the "solicitation".

There is more to the Highland Lowes story. I don't have all the details, but it the major ones are Lowes Corporate policy is no fliers, for anything, period.

The Highland Lowes Manager has pledged support to the search teams, offering gloves, boots, a canopy, and allowing fliers to be distributed on the grounds, and has been in contact with the searchers on a several times per day basis.

The wayward K9 officer has been located!!!!!! He is safe and back with his handler.
