A Poughkeepsie firefighter died from cardiac-related issues he experienced while fighting a fire in the city Monday.

Classmate of mine in Westchester County Probationary Fire Academy 1-94. He was a good firefighter. Those of you in the business know that is the ultimate compliment. RIP Tim.

Gunther Funeral Details

The wake will be held at McHoul's Funeral Home, Rte. 82 Hopewell Junction, on Saturday May 9th 2015 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM. Uniform of the day is Class A. Black badge band and white gloves required. Retirees are also welcome to wear their Class A's.

A full Line of Duty Death Funeral service will be held at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center, 14 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie NY, on Monday May 11th 2015 at approximately 10:00 AM. Uniform of the day is Class "A". Black badge band and white gloves required. Retirees are also welcome to wear their Class "A"'s.

It is recommended firefighters start assembling no later then 9:00 AM in front of the Civic Center.

Parking is available in the parking lot across from Shadows Restaurant on Rinaldi Blvd.

Shuttle buses will start running from there at approximately 8:45 AM

This parking lot can also accommodate buses. If full an overflow lot will be available. Additional parking is available at various locations throughout the downtown area.

Any personnel who arrive by Metro-North it is a short 4 block walk straight up Main St. to the Civic Center.

Any Uniformed personnel who requires overnight lodging there is a limited number of free rooms available at three local hotels. For the rooms, or additional transportation needs, or any general questions, please contact
