Being a jew myself I can speak freely. These individuals in almost EVERY aspect take advantage of the Earth. From the blatant violation of the sanctity of marriage to the flagrant misuse of the vehicle and traffic laws they just rape and pillage. I am so happy that I live in Putnam far from the filth that they call home in many towns in Orange and Rockland. I feel for all of you that must deal with these people with such a feel of entitlement. They use their supposed block voting to scare every single politician in to succumbing to their needs. We need someone with a set to just tell them to STFU get off welfare and stop playing games. All we need is a law stating that two people living together legally, and verified through surveillance, which I am sure we can get volunteers to do, shall not be the beneficiary of social services.
    Rant Over

Thank you to PFD for having us and having some of Lenny's favorite beer available to everyone (Captain Lawrence's Freshchester). The turnout was nothing short of amazing for both ceremonies, and it made me incredibly proud to have known him, and to be a part of FDNY.
I didn't really get to take in just how big the lineup was until the procession was leaving, but even then everything went so quickly it was hard to appreciate it from my vantage point. Still, I think it was a great send off and a true showing of brotherhood.
All that said, writing a eulogy for a friend has to be the most stressful thing I've ever done. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I was with PFDescue47 today at the services. The FDNY has always been great during the tough times after loss of a loved member of the service. Unfortunately they are so great at times like this due all the practice they have had over the years. They were excellent in including members of Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department, and Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps in the services last night and today. I recognized some faces last night and today from jobs in the Bronx, and I was glad to see that everyone had great memories of Lenny, it's a great reflection of the man he was. Even FDNY Commissioner Sal Cassano's speech at the church was spot on, describing Lenny and all his great qualities. Boston EMS sent their Honor Guard,as well as representatives of Mountain Rescue Aspen, and the turnout at the church was awesome. One LT mentioned it was the largest funerals she had seen in 10 years. As the family left the church we were 2 deep for almost two complete city blocks. Lining up as the family left the church:

    Lenny, until we meet again.

NY10570 was one of the original wave of members here with EMTbravo, joining in 2004. The fact that he stood here and took the time to help us all become better emergency providers, proves that one person can make the world better. While I never had the pleasure of meeting him, I have had the pleasure of working with member of the EMS FAMILY, that he leaves behind, and take part of his many discussions here on EMTbravo. He was very pro EMS and tried to make EMS an equal provider, and not the bastard step child it is today. . It is a shame we have to say goodbye to a great man like him, but as long as this site is here, people can learn from him, for many years to come. RIP brother, and may you, your family, and friends find peace in god

    Rest in Peace Lenny.
He was always great to be around. During our time in Pleasantville together, Lenny never fell for the politics, it was always about providing the best service to the public. Lenny was a great friend that will truly be missed.
One incident that comes to mind I mentioned recently in the thread about Thruway response and possible tolls.
We were returning from a parade in Bedford with the old R47. I was driving, when I got a long buzz to stop the truck. I stopped immediately and before I could get out of the cab Lenny had already hopped off and told me everything was OK. Unbeknownst to me Lennny grabbed a crosswalk sign and thrown it on top of the truck. We continued on our way. When I got back to Pleasantville's HQ, I let off the manpower to block traffic and spot me as I backed in. I swung the rig out into the street when one our chiefs drove up very quickly. It soon became apparent he was not in a good mood. He was pissed off that he had received a phone call from the Bedford PD, wanting the sign returned. I think the chief was more upset that his personal time with his wife had been interuppted!. When I asked the chief why they thought it had been us, the chief said "a police officer saw the big Rescue 47 we had recently stenciled on the back.", which is another story. Anyway after several denials about any idea of said sign taking, the chief left and I see Lenny and another member hiding behind the rescue laughing. They brought down the crosswalk sign and promptly returned it to its proper location. Lenny loved to have good time and would bring that incident up from time to time about the look on my face when I was confronted by the chief.

Truly a sad day for NY10570's friends, coworkers, family, and his extended family here on EMTBravo. It didn't take a very long to realize NY10570 was a consummate professional who loved being a Paramedic. The knowledge he shared with the EMTBravo community, and the manner in which he articulated his responses and views was a testament to the provider and the person he IS.
It's a huge loss for the EMS and EMTBravo family... I'm not the sentimental type but the loss of NY10570 is a complete shock and is being felt by all the active members here... There will always be a void here on EMTBravo without him around.
    Godspeed Brother.

Why does it matter aside from maybe helping figure out what is wrong with the patient? Forget about how its just wrong to treat someone differently based upon a medical condition, what if they don't know they're carrying some disease. Everyone gets treated the same unless I suspect an infection requiring droplet precautions.
Moderator note: This was the very last post made by Lenny, before he left us for keeps. RIP.

I've worked the same unit as Lenny for the last year. We were partners for a while, and then mutual partners after I changed tours. I only recently joined this board because of him. I've worked in EMS in various places for the past 7 years and I can say without a doubt that Lenny was one of the finest people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He was a consummate professional, an amazing person and one of my best friends. It hasn't yet sunk in that he is really gone forever. It pains me to think about the life that was cut short, and the amazing career that should have been.
  18. ems-buff liked a post in a topic by efdcapt115 in Seth okay?
You know, I looked at the tag Seth put on his post; "Haters are my motivators." Had to think about that one for a while. Then I remembered something. A Facebook Group. "I Hate EMTBravo." Had to look and saw the page had 169 "likes."
I wonder how those people feel now. If they feel anything at all that is.
I wonder what motivates people to hate. You think those people who took a Facebook page and turned it into a page of hate, you think that didn't hurt Seth? For the "sin" of having created a space for all of us to convene and talk about the jobs we have/had?
There should be no room in emergency services for hate. We're all supposed to be in the service of the people. Common cause.
Now that we can all see what the man has been through, I hope a lot of those haters are doing some soul searching. And regretting.

You are right. The only ones to benefit are the Pelhams. As a resident of Eng 3's first due area near the Town of Mamaroneck border, every time Eng 23 would go to Pelham my next due engine is either 25 or 21. Both are 8-10 minutes away depending on traffic/weather conditions. If the people want to save on taxes go after the Board of Education, not the fire service.
