    There are other departments with large bodies of water and no dive team. Yorktown made a commitment to something because it made sense (given the water in the Town) and their ability to perform the mission. This is to their credit.
    Not every can or should have a dive team, or haz-mat team, or technical rescue team. We can't be experts in everything.

    The Mahopac Falls VFD will be hosting our 4th Annual Car/Bike/Truck Show on Sunday, June 10th, 2012 at the Mahopac Falls Station 1, located off of Route 6N. All are welcomed to attened- there will be a live dj playing throughout the day, as well as a food court preparing a wide variety of food during the breakfast and lunch hours.
    Rain Date: June 17th, 2012
    Registration: 8:30am until 11:30am
    Show: Noon to 3:00pm
    Trophies and Raffles awarded 3:00/3:30pm

    Registration Fees:
    Pre-Reg is $15.00 before June 1st
    After June 1st is $20.00
    Trophies: Best in Show, Chief's Choice, President's Choice, People's Choice, Best Muscle Car, 1st 2nd 3rd Place for Best 1930s & Older, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, & 2000 and Newer, Top 5 Trucks & 4x4s, & Top 5 Motorcycles...
    *** We are also looking for vendors for the day of the show, if interested in a vendor spot, please let me know- $20.00 for the day***
    Raffle Tickets are in- Raffle Chances are $5.00
    Drawing will be done the day of the show

    The Mahopac Falls VFD will be holding a Pasta Dinner to raise funds for our 75th Anniversary in 2012. We are inviting all to our main station Saturday night for a nice dinner with the family prepared by the members of the department- please come out and help support our fire department, and spread the word to all family and friends

    Time: 6:00pm until 8:00pm

    Description Of Incident: Propane Tank Leak w/ later deck collapse onto the tank

    -Putnam Valley units arriving on scene to a 100lb propane tank leaking in rear of the home. After duration on scene, IC requested m/a from Westchester Tech Rescue, stating they needed assistance with shoring of the rear deck. The deck collapsed due to the weight of snow and lawn furnature, and came down onto the tank- due to the safety risk and concern of the workers needing to remove the tank, the deck needed to be stabilized. West TRT & Put Valley FD still on scene working together to shore the deck.
    -23:02: IC24 stating the propane has been shut off and units should be on scene for approx 1/2 hr more
    -23:38 IC24 stating all units cleared and back in service
