In New York City ,the smaller trucks are known as REP's (Radio Emergency Patrol)
They respond to numerous types of situations, there main function is SWAT.
Other assignments they respond to - EDP calls, search and recovery of evidence, vehicle extrication, hostage situation, barricaded subjects, search for perps. jumpers. scene lighting etc.
There motto is - When the people need help they call the police, when the police need help they call for Emergency Service.

They initially asked for a truck from Scarsdale to relocate into Yonkers.
However, Scarsdale did not respond.
Could be due to manpower issues.

Call it what ever you want, but at only 1,000 gallons and no side or rear dump valves and no direct tank fills in the rear and NFPA says that's an engine.
Its a Rockland County thing, for some reason if you have a 1000 gallon tank or more, you can call your truck a tanker.

I am a volunteer in Rockland County.
My department's LOSAP program currently consist of $20.00 per year, not to exceed $600.00 at time to collect, which is at
age 65.
Is this pretty consistant with other departments?

I do a considerable amount of driving in the metro area, and I must say I have not seen or observed these CITE vehicles in our area in quite some time. Are they still in use or have they been re-located.

Based on the fact that you did not cross a crosswalk or stopline on W84 St. you may be able to beat this summons.
A big issue with a red light summons is- was your vehicle before the crosswalk or stopline prior to the light turning red.
A crosswalk or stop line is not present at the median.
Good Luck.

A local news station reported that the FDNY also responded to this fire.
Is that a true statement?

Will Sal Cassano remain as Commisioner of the FDNY under the new administration?
-
Is that true , that S.I. engine companies have 750 gal. tanks, while the rest of the city is 500?

All the van manufacturers, except for GMC, are switching over to the European style van.
This is in a effort to reduce cost, or so they say.

Hey Bob,
Give us the full story on this one.

I am sure most of you already heard about this incident in Manhattan on Sunday.
What I am not clear about, is that I read there were over 200 calls to 911 about this gang driving recklessly all over the city.
I was viewing video prior to the incident on the Westside Highway. This gang was driving reckless ( driving on sidewalks, driving in the opposite lane of traffic and not stopping at red lights, to list a few) all over the city way before this incident occured.
Why was there not more done by the NYPD to control this gang?

I am kind of surprised that in this day and age a government building would be constructed this way.
Meaning that based on the large overhang, could be an easy target and cause significant damage.

I do a lot of highway driving in the tri-state area. People are just oblivious as to what is going on around them while driving.
I have noticed that there really is not much traffic enforcement on our local highways anymore.
Whatever happened to the NYS Police UNmarked blue tahoes, I don't see them on the road any longer.
