What crime was committed? It doesn't matter to me that she is the Fire Chief's daughter, who did this means nothing to me. What I hate is how this information has become so "vital" to news stories. If it's an accident, then I see no reason to publish it, let alone make it a subject HERE, since it does nobody any good.
Right?
Accidents happen all the time and i see both parties listed. No one ever says anything about it then but now all of a sudden we should'nt post because it does no one any good.... cmon man. Look, what happened, happened, if its an accident so be it. Just a crazy coincidence that we are now all aware of. For the record i never said a crime was committed nor do i think at this point any charges should be filed. In fact doesn't matter what i think anyway in terms of what should and shouldn't be filed against her, doesn't matter what anyone here thinks. I was just stating the routes i have seen common situations like this take.

Why do they report who struck the Officer? Is it really neccessary to do this, knowing she's probably dealing with enough already?!
Focus should be on the officer and his recovery.
I almost feel like this thread should be deleted... it has no benefit to anyone involved.
Why because its the Chiefs daughter? If it was some regular nobody civie it would be no big deal posting who it was and how that person should be locked up and pay for this terrible tragedy.

What does that matter?
Why not, I'm just curious. Correct me if I'm wrong but i don't believe there is any rule against asking questions.

For example. If ABCtown gets toned for a working fire why dont they have their own FAST within their dept to roll on the first alarm? Why do they have to tone for another dept miles away that could take 20+ mins to arrive? To me this is how it should go. Tones drop. working fire. You send your first alarm assignment which should include a FAST through your dept. If you arrive on scene and need to put your fast "to work" call for another depts FAST to cover yours or go M/A for the "work". This way you always have a FAST on scene ready if god forbid they are needed.

I think the concept is being lost on some departments that create special teams for FAST when it should be the function of aany/every FF instead of "special teams" that aren't always available.
In a large career department every FF can be FAST. In smaller departments and most volunteer agencies it's treated like something special and not everyone gets the training.
Right on the money

How much water does the average tanker carry per load?
-
While I do agree with grumpy most of the depts were tankers, you have to realize that,a total of 7 departments were on the scene. Again not picking on Y-town,not one bit,I personally like how Y-town operates, but maybe tanker depts should start thinking outside the box and come up with a better way to get water to their scenes without stripping half the county of tankers. What if Continental Village had a w/f toned out during this operation.. where are they getting water from and how fast will they get it.....

I think northern Westchester depts need to start relying on themselves. Establishing their own fast team within the dept for working fires would be a SMALL start.
-
Ive had this same thought for years. Seems like depts cant hold on their own, whether it be staffing issues, lack of apparatus and/or incompetent IC.Again as stated above im not picking on any specific incident.

Yea food was pretty decent, it was at the a** end of the City though and parking sucked. Shame its closing either way. If it was on RT6 in C-manor i bet it would take off. Someone with serious capital do it up!

Sadly, IMHO i don't see any changes happening. Atleast not in this decade.
