  1. center median.. Traffic control device maybe?? not sure but that would be my best guess....
  2. I know about scandutchess and firefeeds, I am looking for a free feed of Poughkeepsie City 911 anyone know of any...
  3. Backboards are whores... I know EF has had them and a reeves at Horton in Middletown... they eventually find there way back... but with thay being said I know I have taken an EF board on an MLSS truck... the best though are the ones that still say Sloper Willen EMS... have taken those too....lol
  4. IHOP is now what was once SIZZLER.... leave it to the fat kid...lol....
  5. I am sorry to all those who are being hosed. With that being said I don't know the particulars of all the details of the transition. As I understand employees will lose seniority but PTO will be paid up to a "max" allowance. Again if I am wrong please correct me. I also have to say the point of this thread is not to bash any employees or companies but to let our brothers and sisters here know that we are here for them. IF THIS BECOMES ANY TYPE OF BASHING I REQUEST THE THREAD BE THEN LOCKED! Again to all those I am sorry and I hope that T.C. does right by those with experience and knowledge of the areas they serve. Let me explain what I mean... by "hosed" I mean having 6 weeks left at your place of employment after being there for "x" amount of years and having such short notice. IDNBY but 6 weeks is a relative short notice to figure where you are going to go - or what you are going to do... I have also heard from Alamo employees that those currently in Medic school will only have the current semester payed for.... and the rest is either whatever TC is going to do or, on their own. So I don't know about you but to me it would feel as if I was hosed.... and that is what I am referring to....
  6. As the topic starter I must state state my peace, and it has gone OFF TOPIC... First and foremost If any one company can be there for 100% of there calls they are OVERSTAFFED... and have Ungodly amounts of money to spend/waste on those average days b4 the sh*t hits the fan, Everyone needs to be able to go mutual aid at one time or another... thats why its happens.... Instead of posting every time a company drops a call, check and see what the contract REQUESTS... like it was said Everyone turns over a call... For Instance, It has been said here about a responding to EF from the Burgh... but as many of you know EFFD DOES NOT PAY FOR A CONTRACT, but when available EF has an ALS bus Located at their HQ for their calls... EF is also known for dropping 3-4 calls back-2-back... They also have their own BLS that can meet that ALS unit coming from where ever or any other ALS unit for that matter.... In a perfect world a company can cover them 100% of the time also Medicare and Other Ins company would actually send us what we bill for not what they think it should cost.. also EMS would be a little better paid... but this isnt that world... so please if everyone can get of their HIGH HORSE and instead of having the attitude of Company A dropping calls have the attitude to be there as fellow field staff to cover each others backs... oh and also as someone stated referencing that a specific company hires from the bottom... I dnt work for that company but i have Many a friends and ex partners for that work for that company or any other for that matter... Every company has its below PAR employees, EVERY COMPANY!!!! I think that was everything I wanted to say
  7. the here say is that Iphone will be coming to Verizon unknown date though........ I really think Verizon is far superior... in 2 years I have maybe two dropped calls....
  8. Ok so I was leaving Joes about 2 weeks ago and I saw 6 AMR ambulances that were then towing another AMR ambulance (w/bumber mounts) getting off the Thruway in New Paltz. Then I saw 2 sup. cars I think right behind them. Anyone else see this convoy anywhere... Curious where they were heading....
  9. It was also like 2 in the a.m. Maybe they were just hitting the hotel for the night, but it was just weird seeing an ambulance towing another like that.... and then have a convoy of 12 deep.... was just curious if it was just me seeing that lol.....
  10. Or if it can someway be misinterpreted to be harmful to any Civil service... The PK Urinal is known for that... (kinda like the the whole Fairview thing) I know I haven't seen a story on the "Support Fairview FF." Yet they can report from one side... with the "Fairness for Fairview" and only interview those people
  11. Is that a steering wheel or were you just happy to see them?????
  12. http://d.yimg.com/kq/groups/19601814/48652...dl%20Bill%2Epdf Link to letter from NYS
  13. Once again I always love the comments under any of these stories....
  14. Equivalent to Dutchess' Priority System as well Priority 4 = Alpha Priority 3 = Bravo Priority 2 = Charlie Priority 1 = Delta/Echo I do believe the Priority 1,2,3,4 is from national guidelines (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and of course judged by the info given from the caller. Orange and Ulster use the Alpha system.
  15. Round Tanks with baffles decrease the chances of rollover.... over a standard T tank... lol....
  16. Def a great idea to help keep the volunteerism goin I.M.O. Not only night but day would/does greatly from this. There has been many posts above that point y this is a good idea. But we are preachin to the choir... you still get those who have the "I am a volunteer you cant make me do that" "attitude"... I wish Vol EMS would do it that way for a rig that they "roster/staff" instead of third dispatch for the rig. The only reason they don't IMO is that "attitude"
  17. These are Horton Ambulances on 2008 Ford E350 Chassis with 158" Wheelbase. Two (165, & 166) have been in service for just about a year. 167 was just delivered and will be in service this week. That have "Privacy Windows" that fog with the push of a button. the old 165 was a 1995 or 1996, 167 was a 1999 I believe, and the old 167 is/was 2002.
  18. they wanted to replace them because they were getting old like i said above the oldest was 15 years old. they originally bought the 2 and were told if they purchase a third now it would be at a bulk discounted price I believe.... and they wanted all three to be the same... easier to know where things are and what not. They also 2 fly cars one for their Capt. and the other for either of the LT.s that has it at the time (they rotate when available) to be in the area to first respond. I dont know $$ figures though
  19. a few pics of 167
  20. Mobile Life uses CPAP as well as RSI
  21. I do love how in the pic it like a "kitty" triage.... and yet another one that I missed....
