Interesting station set up. Found more photos of it on their website The fire pole was replaced with a "water park" style slide.

This unique fire station is located in Washington Township, Dublin, Ohio. Due to economics and property availibility, this dual purpose structure has a fire station on the bottom two floors and a 900,000 gallon water storage tank above. It houses an engine company and ambulance. Photo by Howard Peiffer

I was driving through Trophy Club, Texas yesterday when I happened to see that the Circus had set up shop in the parking lot of the Country Club. Curious to know what it was, I pulled in and parked. It happened to be Trophy Club's fire station.

They have a Engine, Brush Truck, Medic, and Quint parked inside.

There's a mobile home set up next to the tent for their living quarters.

The reason for this is because they tore down the old station to build this new station on the same lot as the old one. This new station is set to open this Summer.

This story makes me very happy about one point - I don't live anywhere near Chicago. This is absurd and totally demoralizing to all the men and women who took and passed the exam to become firefighters.
I wonder how the judge would feel if she was passed over for law school with a score of 89 so that a person with a score of 64 could take her seat.
I guess this means they better start passing out diplomas to those who failed out of HS also because apparently grades don't matter.

A couple of months ago I happened to drive by this house and was unable to snap some pic's. This week I finally got them, so here they are.

The quarters of FDNY Ladder 47.

The quarters of FDNY Engine 64.

And their relation to each other.
They are located on Castle Hill Avenue, Bronx.
This firehouse was mentioned previously in this FDNY E45/L58 Firehouse thread.
Here are a couple more pics with some more detail.

Some additional detail of the L47 house.

Some additional detail of the E64 house.

Because if every dept. does not have at least one of everything, Westchester will be in danger of losing its status of highest taxed county in America.
Most of the fires in northern Westchester have difficulty deploying a ladder fast enough to get into position ahead of the 1st due engine. Once blocked out it is useless. The main reason for this is that without inhouse staffed units the 1st priority is (and has to be) to get the 1st due engine out. In much of the non hydranted districts the next critical unit is the tanker. By the time enough members assemble to get the ladder out, its to late.
I know some will then say, if they had a quint it would be the 1st unit and problem solved, except the comprimises needed to make a quint work, mean it will show up with too little hose, not enough water and not enough ground ladders. Its better to get a dedicated truck from another company on AUTOMATIC AID to every fire call. That way you get a proper engine response to attack the fire and a proper truck response to do truck work.

I highly disagree with you posting the department's name for starters. Second what agency are you in let's see how good you guys are. Everyone has issues there is atleast one dept in that same area that's worse than the one you listed, but everyone has issues no one can be as perfect as your agency.

Your comment is foolish, asinine, moronic, and not very thought out. To blame a Department for giving the black eye instead of the individual. That eye has been beaten by so many people over the history of the fire service it is never going away. Who ever blames the Department should look into there own closet and examine there skeletons before blaming the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department for this. I am sure you all have a few things that are in there that never made the news or bought to the attention of the police.

Yes I am a member of Sleepy Hollow Fire Department. Trent if you meet him before this incident was very active here; you never expected this from him. But he has been accused of committing the most heinous crime a firefighter can commit do I feel hurt and betrayed. Yes I do. Do I stand by my Department of course I do and will always. I am proud of my Chiefs and Officers and fellow Firefighters who help keep Sleepy Hollow safe.

Member of Sleepy Hollow Fire Department and Damn Proud of it!!!!

    Date: 4/25/2011
    Time: 22:47
Location: TSP NB, 1/8m N of Rt 134
    Frequency: 46.26, Fire 17, Fireground 7
Units Operating: Engine 270, Rescue 16, Engine 273, YVAC, 34-Medics, NYSP
Weather Conditions: light mist / fog
    Description Of Incident:
Single Car into the median, down the embankment. 911 Caller was the driver, no other calls. Car was not visible from the road.
    22:47 - Dispatched to incident
    22:48 - 2532, 2533 Responding
    22:50 - Engine 270, Rescue 16, Engine 273 responding
    22:51 - 2531 responding
22:55 - 2533 on location, confirming entrapment, center median, 20 feet down the embankment
23:50 - Victim extricated (55 min extrication time), handed over to EMS, transported ALS to WMC
    - Car was a new Subaru legacy with extremely strong frame work (boron and ultra high strength steel). Car wrecked at an extremely high rate of speed, causing the engine/dash to roll onto the driver, pinning the victim's right leg completely under the dash. During the incident, Multiple hydraulic cutting/spreading tools, 3 hydraulic rams, 1 sawsall and 1 steering wheel cutter were put to work. Precautionary hand line was also stretched. Units preformed a drivers side removal of the front door, and a full roof removal. The dash was then rolled as much as possible without further injuring the patient, and it was determined the victim's leg was pinned under the clutch and brake. The steering wheel cutter was used to cut the brake pedal out, and remove the victim. The victim was alert and conscious the duration of the incident, and suffered minor injuries. Without a doubt, this car saved this victim's life.

Due to that post, New York State will now be offering a fire service class on PUNCUATION. These classes will start becoming available soon. Heavy attendance is expected, so students are urged to contact your Chief's immediatly to be put on the waiting list. Batty12, your spot is reserved by orders of the NYS Car 1.

That may be the longest sentence I've ever seen (in my entire life). On top of that, from an administrative standpoint, your post is complete with assumptions, highly questionable assumptions mind you, but assumptions nonetheless.
You’ve yet to provide any empirical evidence supporting your claims. Again, we eagerly await your documentation supporting your claims that it is more efficient to utilize engines/ladders to do the work that Mohegan currently has SUV’s for.

"batt. 12" -- Perhaps you could provide us with some of your empirical data that weighs the cost/benefit analysis of using SUV's in place of Engines/Trucks, accounting for fuel, wear/tear, insurance/liability, etc, etc...
You do have that, right? I know you wouldn't be making such declaratory statements unless you had supporting documentation after carefully evaluating all available evidence, right?
I eagerly look forward to specific links that you provide us so we can all become as educated as you are and make such broad statements.

If you are concerned about wasting gas, I am sure that Mohegan is saving money by running the SUV's on the EMS calls. Last time I checked they were getting better gas mileage than an apparatus. Also with a 40 plus square mile district, they are saving a lot of miles on the front line apparatus.
