  1. It is a special response which is used during Storms, emergencies etc. Engine, Ladder and Battalion to automatic alarms. Any additional information pointing to smoke etc. gets the box filled out...

    A Modified response. The night of the Blizzard, 400 Park Ave came in as an activated alarm, then was filled out due to further info, turned out to be a small 10-29. You never know !!

    Good job to the powers that be, for pre-planning and manning the necessary apparatus for a storm as this one.

  2. Another overlooked note to this story, from Lowell is:

    Ladder-4, Engine-4 and Rescue-1 were all shut down the night tour of the fire, half of the normal first alarm assignment.

    I'm willing to bet the Fellas could'a used the "extra" hands.............!!!!!!

  4. Several still demoted, and several still laid off. Not sure of the exact numbers.

    Actually, More than "several" still demoted & laid off, more than 30 still effected............
