Salisbury Mills (Orange) has taken delivery of a 2006 Pierce Enforcer rear mount rescue pumper, which will replace a 1989 GMC/E-One that operated out of the Mountain Lodge station.
Construction has begun on a new pumper-tanker for Sparrowbush. "Custom Fab" body (not familiar with them) on a black over lime Spartan Gladiator chassis.

Any firematic representation attending the services are asked to be at the Trinity Lutheran Church for line-up no later than 9:30 AM. Parking for apparatus and chief’s vehicles will be located directly across the street from the church at the American Lumber parking lot. Overflow parking will be available at nearby locations as directed by fire police. There will be a gathering for fire service personnel after the service at the Walden firehouse, a short distance from the church. Any questions contact Chief Robert Pressler. It is with deep regret the Montgomery Fire Department announces the passing of Firefighter & Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners Charles Wallace. Charlie passed away last night due to injuries received while on duty on January 10th while directing traffic. He will be greatly missed. Funeral details are incomplete at this time, there will be more info to follow. Please keep his family in your thoughts, may he rest in peace.

No sooner do I mention the lack of legal notices than one turns up. Greenville (Orange) seeking to purchase a used Pierce Lance pumper with 1200 gallon tank. I believe this will replace the KME heavy rescue that was the source of some issues earlier.
Also, New Hampton (Orange) should take delivery before the end of the year of a Spartan/Rosenbauer quint with 102' rear mount platform. Called a Rosenbauer Raptor.....has a Metz look to it.

It think that is Engine 33 on Boyleston Street not far from Fenway Park
Ladder 15 & Engine 33 don't appear to have any modification (at first glance). The station doesn't seem that out of the ordinary in terms of design.
As a side note, this house was home to Lt. Edward Walsh of Engine Co. 33 and Michael Kennedy of Ladder Co. 15 who were killed in the line of duty on the afternoon of March 26th while fighting a nine alarm fire on Beacon Street.

Campbell Hall (Orange Co.) took delivery of their new rescue earlier this week. It's built by UST Fire Apparatus (formerly US Tanker) on a four-door International TerraStar chassis.
Production has started on the following: Kenworth/Pierce tanker for Goshen (Orange) and Seagrave engines for Bedford Hills (Westchester) and Tallman (Rockland).
Delivery for Maybrook's new engine has been pushed back to November, and Washington Heights' Freightliner/Ferrara medium rescue is due in mid-October.
Sparrowbush (Orange) seeking bids again for a new pumper-tanker.
That's about all I have. Anyone else have any further updates? Have not heard who Pine Bush went with for an engine, or if an order has even been placed yet.

State: Greenville Fire's reserve fund overfunded
GREENVILLE — A state audit found that the Greenville Fire District's capital reserve fund has been consistently overfunded since 2010, with a balance of nearly $900,000 at the end of 2012 — or roughly nine times the budgeted maximum for the fund.
The New York State Comptroller's Office conducted an audit for the period of Jan. 1, 2012, to Sept. 30, 2013, and reviewed the district's fund balances from fiscal years 2010 to 2012.
The audit found that "the district accumulated over $1.2 million in five separate reserve funds as of Dec. 31, 2012. The capital reserve fund accounted for almost 70 percent of the total reserve funds held by the district," with a balance of $889,327, the report states.
The capital reserve fund was established in 1982, with "an estimated $100,000 maximum funding level," the auditors said.
The district's budgeted expenditures were $557,465 for 2012 and $569,444 for 2013, according to the audit.
The district had been squirreling away the extra money for the anticipated purchase of a nearly $1 million, 75-foot ladder truck — a resolution the board of commissioners withdrew a year ago in the face of public opposition, followed shortly after by an upheaval on the five-member board.
"The majority of the new board would like to purchase a new rescue truck and new tanker truck for a total of approximately $750,000," the audit said.
If the new equipment is not purchased, the audit recommends that district officials use the money for one-time expenses and return the surplus to taxpayers by reducing property taxes in the future.
Allen Bobb Jr., chairman of the board of commissioners, issued a response, which was included in the state report, essentially agreeing with the audit's findings.
Bobb said the commissioners, at their April 8 meeting, voted to accept two proposals from a consultant called Emergency Vehicle Response to study the district's apparatus and fleet, as well as review the specifications for a custom rescue/pumper truck. The consultants are to begin their study in September, Bobb said.
The commissioners planned to pass a resolution to take one rescue truck out of service and to buy a new tanker/pumper truck, paid for with money from the capital reserve fund, Bobb said in the report.
Bobb could not be reached for comment Monday afternoon. Greenville Supervisor George Hossann Jr. also could not be reached Monday.
