I'm not really looking to have a discussion but if one insues, so be it. I have noticed in a few threads recently that some people aren't able to take criticism or jest very well anymore. I would like to take this opportunity to bring back an acronym that was used by many on this site. Q.T.I.P. Quit taking it personal. Guess what kids, this is the emergency service. You are posting on a forum that is dedicated to us. If you say something out of line or just plain stupid, you will get your various parts busted. That's just how it works. Thanks for your time guys and gals. As always, stay safe.

If you're as annoying in person as you are on this thread, a North Castle brother might just get an MTA officer to 85 with him and find out how Armonk's tazer policy really works...
Out of your league junior, keep moving.

It's s*** like this that makes all of us look bad. This is also why I hate parades. Having a melt down because two members didn't march? Grow the hell up! Can anyone tell me, is there any positive aspects to being a volunteer firefighter anymore? Because all I see is bull s*** and drama.

Perhaps it is the insurance company that made the age restriction. Everyone is so quick to jump on the officers and board about it. If the insurance company requires a person to be 21 years old to operate the ambulance, this made him an uninsured driver and left the corps and himself open to a huge liability. As far as someone asking where the 7 board members were for this call, are they members or are the community representatives? Yes there is a lot of BS politics and personal agendas in volunteer EMS, but it isn't always at the fault of those who govern. Sometimes it's the big mouths and the cliques that cause the problem. Rant over.
Have a happy new year and stay safe!

It has been beaten to death and I wonder how many other news agencies are going to be contacted if he is such a dedicated member of the squad he showed his true age by when he got busted by the rules instead of takin it like a man doing his time and then coming back to try and make the proper changes to the rules he quit !!!!!! That is the bottom line some one said it before why did he send first crew out for arm laceration redirecting them from the first dispatch of seizures ? Wtf so I'm done getting off my box now

OK! Beating this story to death. Bottom line he buffed it out. He has no authority to send a crew to a second call before the first call. A child with a seizure and a elderly man with a cut arm are two different calls. For all we know the child was blasting a fever causing seizures, which in my medical training takes first priority. This EMT broke the rules and freelanced ( in my mind ) he wanted to be the hero of the day. Case closed. Another buff in a agency trying to get his/her name noticed. It happens in every department, there's always one that buffs a call and ends up causing more harm than good. No reader should argue with this cause we all have one in a department we serve and if you don't you full of it.

It's not so much a matter of mileage but of the hours the vehicle runs. The rig may only have 30,000 miles when it retires but could have 60,000 hours on it. To put this in perspective, if you ran the vehicle 24/7/365 for 10 years the rig would have 87,360 hours on it, but in 10 years my truck has 116,000 miles. This is well below its life expectancy. The diesel takes the abuse better than gas. They run cooler and at lower RPMs. Much less wear.

After reading all these threads, in my opinion it just goes to show how 1 article got everyone hot and wild and burned up social media, and now we read the secons article and there is more to the story. Before we take sides and all become experts there is always different sides to hear and read. He did wrong, period. No excuses should be typed or said. Rules are rules and if you don't like them quit or don't join. The second article is so much different then the first, wait there will be a third and we'll be hanging him out to dry.

It was 11 AM. I'm pressuming they've been there a while (probablly not since 7AM but still). Even so, you're at the bay, coat with your own scope in the pocket. I REALLY understand about the head.... from painfiul experience there is nothing worse on this earth than being out on the H'way at the MVA in the wet AND cold with a full bladder. Two minutes is a long time when crew is there and the call is for a kid seizeing. Like we said I don't see them taking alot of time getting out they should have been puting a little hustle in it and if they didn't.... I'm just saying

I did miss that line in the article and I apologize. The fact remains that he was not listed as a driver in the organization and was most likely not on the insurance to drive. The article also states that his suspension was a result of many instances where he violates rules and regulations. Although I do not know what the other incidents were, my opinion thus far is that he is a bit of a loose cannon and needed a reality check. There are several of those types in agencies I belong to.
He is also quoted as picking up a blank sheet if paper and quitting on the spot. Personally I feel that was a bit extreme. Take your punishment and go back to work. I feel that action showed immaturity.
Just my view on the situation. Again, stay safe all.

Thanks again guys. Got the official word that as of tomorrow afternoon I can kiss sleep goodbye for a while as mommy and baby will be coming home. I also want to thank the staff of putnam hospital birthing center for all they have done. The nurses there were absolutely outstanding! They were with us every second of the process even before they found out we were both MOS (that just got me a cup of coffee...). Thanks to everyone that has called or messaged me with their well wishes. It means a lot to Jackie and myself to have such great support from our brothers and sisters. Thank you again and happy holidays to you all.

Thanks guys. Momma and baby are doing great. It's been a long day to say the least. The last time I went over 40 hours without sleep was a very long time ago. I guess I'm not a young gun anymore!

Personally I feel this tool is a waste of money and compartment space. I have seen this tool used and was not impressed. I was able to cut the windshield of the car in less time with a glass master. Just my humble opinion.

As far as I know bee-line does not monitor emergency dispatch (I would imagine if they did they would know when there is an accident on their route and wouldn't ask me what was happening). This particular driver she is POSSIBLY speaking of MAY be a person who runs a Facebook page.

You beat me to it! Many people forget how easy it is to overload a vehicle. Anyone who drives a commercial vehicle or even tows a trailer knows how dangerous it can be to have an overweight vehicle.
