Its Engine 77 looking to be replaced. They have been specing a new rig for some time now. Im good friends with alot of the guys from there. They carry extrication tools and equipment. If im not mistaken 77 79 and their utility usualy go on the thruway. But i know for sure 77 is the one to be replaced.

Thats the C side of the structure. Colliers mansion conditions made it very hard to gain entry. I was operating a hoseline from the first ladder because i could not get in. We did make entry in the third window to do primary search and search came up negative.

Brake clean drys fairly instantly and doesnt lubricate. For rubber gaskets i dont think itll b good for.

Like said earlier the truss construction, im graduating this month from college with a civil tech engineering degree and all they teach you in classes is oo use trusses fast easy and cheap. I refused to use trusses in any of y projects but its the way engineers and architects are being taught and thats how they are designing structures now. Just another thought

Nothing should matter in a person running for an officer position but credentials and knowledge. Sex race etc should neer matter. My company has had 3 females run through the ranks and as of right now the company has 5 female firefighters. One as of right now in the process to run for the 2nd lt position.

Yea exactly thats once you find the battery. I can say most newer cars do place them in the trunk of cars but i do know Dodge Intrepids have them inside the fender in front of the wheel, it is not accessible from the top you have to take off the wheel and liner to access it.

Exaxtly. If you have the man power and one guy standing around dot cut it get a little wretch and take the terminal off. Lately BMW have been making automatic battery discharges. If the cars airbag system senses an accident it has a little CO2 cartridge on the battery terminal and pops off, therefore disconnecting the battery. I dont know how good it is but i work in a body shop and have changed that wire on a bmw twice already.

I saw posts earlier in this thread about why the bridge only lasted 50 years. I study engineering and sciences in college. They have said that the tappen zee was made under strict budgets and was only designed for the 50 years. Engineers design for life spans as well as purpose and strength. If that helps any just throwing that in. In my opinion build a new bridge fast because if its true the wood piles used on the tappen zee are really disappearing like they are, that bridge will crumble. Sad but true.

Ossining fire dept 200th anniversery friendship night may 4th and parade may 5th. Friendship night is beig held at the riverfront, i think at 7pm but not 100%.

Response to helicopper, village and town r two different deals. The village owns and runs the fd the town pays the village for fire protection from the village. Some of the town of ossining is also briarcliff fd area. Area like north state road and around there is briarcliff fd.

In ossining if its anything like a smoke investigation its a minor alarm depending on where it is you will either get 2 or 3 engines a truck and a rescue (only in the village), for fire, reported or confirmed (village only) a general alarm box 6-6 is dispatched and thats 6 engines 2 trucks and the rescue. For fast usually croton comes with engine 119. For the town its different if its a confirmed its 3 engines and the tower ladder. If need be mutual aid can be called for addiional engines or the truck from the village. Ossining fast uses engine 98 along with utility 51. Mutual aid engines 97 and 99 are on a monthly rotation as well as the trucks ladder 41 and tower ladder 42.

Ossining 200th anniversery parade Saturday May 5th 2012, friendship night with live band Friday May 4th 2012. The parade starts in the afternoon sometime i forgot exactly wat time but around 2 or 3.
