Sounds like someone is a little bitter.  Didn't make the cut ??

Did you even read the article or at least the portion posted?

Even if "the roads will still be congested", the fact that a fly car is closer to a call than an ambulance means that ALS equipped EMS personnel will likely reach the patient sooner.  It clearly states that response times in that area are down in conjunction with this program.  That certainly seems like a good thing and it's literally change.

Now if the bad guys will conform to the new standard, problem solved..........
  5. nfdcanman liked a post in a topic by x152 in It is still out there Professional vs Volunteer...and in Westchester
As a starting point.....Change the name of the thread to VOLUNTEER VS. CAREER.

This entire issue was manufactured by a small group of completely incompetent volunteer fools wearing Fire Chief costumes from the Port Chester FD.

Sorry if the truth may hurt for some of the pro-volunteer carrot snappers on this board, but this story is going to sting for awhile (as it should).

Contrary to the claim of one "dinosaur" here......This has everything to do with career and volunteer relationships and the absolute jealousy that a few complete losers from PCFD attempted to enact upon 8 unionized firefighters who did not conform to their failing regime.

Speaking out earned them being thrown out.

Except, the labor world is a bit harder to con than the archaic volunteer fiefdoms that these pieces of trash have matriculated through.

    Open check book PCFD.

    Elections have consequences.

  15. nfdcanman liked a post in a topic by Dinosaur in Should Con Ed Pay For Gas Meters?
Why should Con Ed be responsible for buying equipment for the FD's?

FD's need to be responsible for their own equipment in their own districts.

  16. nfdcanman liked a post in a topic by x635 in Should Con Ed Pay For Gas Meters?
Local municipalities need to decide what equipment is right for them. For Con Ed to take on a project of obtaining meters, distributing them, training people, and providing ongoing maintenance and support would be a huge undertaking. It does have it's benefits, one being everyone is on the same level with the same device (which can be a double edged sword).

I do believe the best way for this is for Con Ed to issue grants to departments to fund natural gas metering devices, and the research into better devices more suited for the fire services needs. Everybody's call volume has literally, and excuse the pun, exploded with gas investigations. A lot of this has to do with Con Ed, and whatever you want to label as the reason for these calls.....aging infrastructure, extreme precaution, constant construction, poor code enforcement, whatever. But it is their system we are responding to, and assisting, on a daily basis, something they are paid to maintain.

I notice fewer & fewer people using the "Like This" button, now of course everyone is not going to "Like" everything but consider the contribution the person made to the topic.
As an example if a person creates an "Incident Alert" and they really take the time to put some details in the story please consider giving them some credit. I have seen some people who no longer post them because it appears no one cares.
If people post some photos of an incident and you like them let them know by hitting that "Like" button.
Good conversation started or comments you agree with in a topic give them some credit hit the button.
    Just my opinion
