Why blue you ask, I'll keep it short and the next few posts are off topic but it will answer your question
Back in 1988 while attending the NYS show at the old Concord Resort Hotel we came across an Engine that was built by Pierce for Peru, NY, an upstate FD that was painted Bright Regatta Blue or as we called it Pepsi Blue and our crew that was there that day really thought the Engine was very sharp, I took several pictures of it that day. After we returned and knowing that our 1974 tanker was out at Pierce for a refurbish we decided to share the photos with the members at the next monthly meeting and the membership voted to have our Tanker painted the same color, no other reason than that, the rest of the purchases after that have been the blue/white scheme. Here is the engine from Peru are our vehicles that followed (some of the photos are older and not the greatest)

Below is a link to a short video of the front flashing LEDs, kind of looks like they have amber in the video but they are all red/white, it's not the best quality but you'll get the idea

I just got a few from the shop, still a bit blurry as they are cell phone pictures but it shows the custom pullout shelve/tray with custom made storage areas for the premix fuel cans and gallon container of bar oil, the tray will hold our chain saw and vent saw.
    The tilt out shelve/tray

The three areas for the pre-mix fuel and the box for the bar oil.

Again we will be headed down Friday so I will supply updated photos with my camera.

Funny, I heard the same thing the other day, and was PISSED, especially after knowing all the hard work, dedication, and love behind the restoration. It came out beautiful, and I took the photo below shortly after it was restored and going to appear in the Columbus Day Parade.
Maybe one day, my dream for a Yonkers FD Training Center and Museum will come to fruition. Until then, I can't believe that there's no place to store it in all of YONKERS (not in an upstate warehouse). No City agency or private business has garage space to donate? And I hope it will appear at the EMTBravo Muster in 2014 if the truck's still alive.

This is nothing new. Many people consider an emergency to be anything that is important or annoys them. People used 911 for just about every type of call imaginable. Here are a few
    That I can recall:
A man called 911 and wanted a police report confirming that his cable TV was not working so he could claim a refund for the day. A lady called 911 wanting to file a police report because her insurance company needed a report for the jewelry she lost in the Bahamas. She was advised that 911 is only for emergencies. She stated that she was busy and didn’t have time to look up the non-emergency number in the phone book and with the taxes she paid why should she have to pay for directory assistance. 911 is just so convenient and since I am on the phone, can’t you just send someone over here now so I can file my claim. This would be for an incident that occurred in the Bahamas? She confirmed this and was advised that she would have to report the incident were it happened. Before cell phones, people would call 911 on pay phones to report parking violations so they would not have to pay the 25 cents. Calls about a parade in another jurisdiction Could we send someone over and change a light bulb. Is there school today? We could start a new thread on some of the worst abuses of 911.
