  1. At one point Arlington had a volunteer Chief, career Deputy Chief and Asst. Chiefs from each of the 4 companies in the District.
  2. This too has been revised. Apparently from what I understand, Commander spun a big song and dance and never came through. Nichols back on board last I heard. However tb this is all subject to change.
  3. Having been both a Fire Fighter/ Chief and a Fire Equipment Sales person, dealing with the Federal FEMA money comes with strict purchase guidelines and even more strict penalties for misuse of designated monies. Not knowing how long the bill was hung out there repossessing the SCBAs is bold at best. Wow!
  4. Is Spring Valley Fire specifically prohibited form conducting their own hydrant pressure and flow tests?? And as far as where all the hydrants are. There has got to be someone on the FD that's been around long enough to know where the hydrants are. Sounds like the old days when competitve Fire Co's used to put barrels over the hydrant until their respective rigs showed up for first water.
  5. TFT has a line of Suction hose. Light weight hose and couplings, no slippage of couplings to my knowlege.
  6. My understanding was that over 1200 wristbands were issued at the gate to get in. A very proud feeling helping some one in need!
  7. Excellent pictures. My how things have changed. If I'm not mistaken the Elmont Snorkle became EFFD Snorkle prior to them buying a new aerial.
  8. 3" LY SL "LUNCH BOX" ????LET ME KNOW. CALL ME
  9. To all who have commented on the LODD memorial in the park. I respect your opinions as I hope you'll respect mine. For two years much labor and fund raising was done to put in place a fitting memorial to the FF of Dutchess County Fire Departments who made the the ultimate sacrifice. It is amazing just how many, over the years as career or volunteer who gave their lives for their communities. The cost of the project should be of no consiquence. How can you put a dollar value on a persons life who gave all for their community. This memorial will stand the test of time and man. Unfortunately there will always be politics to slant or muddy a project to honor the history of fire fighting which is all to fast being lost. I had the privilege of attending the service at St. Paul's as well as the unveiling of the stone after, it was extremely tastefully & professionally done. Taking no sides, honoring all. Each memorial stone should compliment the other to preserve the memory of all fallen firefighters. It should not matter where they are placed. It is unfortunate that the Mansion Street Park has the rep. that it has, but where the memorial is placed should be a safe haven for anyone who wants to stop by.
  10. NFPA 1851 CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF STRUCTRUAL GEAR.
  11. OUR LOSS IS GODS GAIN. SOMEONE WILL BE AIDED BY HIS KIND SPIRIT AIN WILL TO SERVE. GOD REST HIS SOLE AND BLESS HIS FAMILY WITH UNDERSTANDING.
  12. THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON COULD HAVE SAVED A FORTUNE BY ORDERING THEIR AIRPACKS LESS THE WAIST STRAPS!!
  13. Nice pics, was that ALF new to Rombout or from Westchester originally. I also think they had Beekmans original engine when they formed up?
