  1. dont worry joe ill be coming with the rescue or the wrecker either way lol and just for eveyones info we used ny state t-way 505 which is vincents towing with there flatbed to winch the vehicle out from under the tractor trailer at the hairrison mva last week, lifted the truck then 505 pulled it out to gain access to remove person.the tow trucks are a great resource for heavy lifting or winching during calls, any t-way tow company is usally pretty fast getting on the highway and all you have to do is ask for them

  4. would have been nice to know about it sooner,i have a few old port chester rigs and a few old trucks,if i would have known about it i could have brought a few,welll next time make sure to put notice sooner,could have brought a few of mine and mostliky 25-30 more of friends with vehicles.
  5. in port chester we cover i-287, i-95,and the hutch. depending on which highway it is and depending north or south or east or west decides which engine. the career engine and the rescue proceed right to the scene and the volunteer engine stays on the ramp unless needed. if the rescue is not needed for an extrication it is too be used as a blocker for the scene. if we are going to extricate the engine will come off the ramp and protect the scene.
  6. its been 15 years now since eugenes life was taken on a morning fire on travis avenue on april 10 1991. eugene is still in all are hearts and is missed everyday bye the members of fire patrol & rescue co .1. you were way to young and had your whole life ahead of you but you died doing what you loved. you are our hero and will always be. rest peacefully and we will meet again.
  7. The test is just like the PD exam ... good news is that DOC is the next four years is looking at a big retirement wave so many job are going to become av. God luck to all
  8. im the captain of rescue. im not sure what we ran for this year yet. we do are totals from march to march along with our elections. but for the last 6 years while ive have been doing the reports weve ended up usally high 600's to low 700's for calls. and we dont do any ems.were a busy company for a volunteer rescue to run 700 calls.
  9. hello all im angelo,im 24 from port chester.i am curently the captain of rescue 40 of the port chester fire dept,a fast team member ,and a decon trailer member.and also the first dept driver of the port chester fire dept for ladder 31 i have been in my company for almost 6 years,getting ready to get out as captain,was also a lt for 3 years.i grew up in the fire house with most of my family also being firefighters. as we stand right now there are 5 members of my family that belong to fire patrol and rescue of port chester.
  10. brooksville also had a 1957 b-model open cab pumper which is still around and in good shape. and harry howard hook and ladder had an ac mack bulldog tracter for there tiller.eng-58 also had a mack not sure of the year but it was a war era,with no chrome everything was painted so that the truck wasnt flashy for the threat of being attacked during ww11.

  12. in port chester rescue 40 uses all hurst.they are heavy but they are very dependable tools and are very tough and take a beating. are 32a is from 1978 and its are first tool off the rig at an extrication.
