  1. Dan, Dean Scofield is Car 1 and does a great job there. They have a great bunch of guys there and do the job right. Always have that "truck" going somewhere and ground ladders are always being used. I enjoy working with the guys at FFD and had the pleasure to work with them on the Saulsbury they bought a few years ago!
  2. Funny alot of people don't realize that the Saulsbury plant was so far in the red prior to E-One purchasing them that the only way out was for the Saulsbury family to sell or go bankrupt and close the facility. E-One operated the plant for about 5 years or so and the only mistake made by E-One was prematurely shutting the plant down as it was on the way back and was profitable towards the end. (That president is no longer with the company). It's easy to say they ruined the Saulsbury name but they were paid alot of money for a facility/brand that was not going to be around long anyway.
  3. Very Nice. Looks like a well thought out design. Good Luck LCFD!!
  4. my understanding was that they removed the SCBA so the personnel would stay seated in the cabs and seatbelted in, if they were donning a SCBA during a response it was unlikely they were belted in and injury was more likely in case of an accident.
  5. Congrats !!
  6. You can when you have the same salesman for both companies sell you the rig !!
  7. That is network TV for you, FOX goes to as many commercials as possible for the revenue. The YES network covers every 7th inning stretch during the regular season.
  8. Get well soon and God Bless.
  9. Rest in peace FF Joyce, God Bless his family and the YFD. Speedy recovery to Lt. Murray and FF Kanych.
  10. Great shots Bill, as always... great job by all FD's in tough conditions.
  11. That corner will sneak up on you that is for sure...
  12. That is alot of fire in that last photo !!
  13. That should get everyone working together
  14. No. The Peekskill rig came directly from E-One.
  15. Very Nice, Good Luck with it !!
  16. Would have to disagree on this one, when i first moved to Sharon the neighbors were talking about seeing an "animal" that i could not figure out from their description, my wife saw it twice and the second time she was able to get a picture of it ( not a very clear one) which clearly showed a large cat like animal with a long "looping" tail, the picture could be debated and has been so we left it alone and have not seen anything since, this was about three years ago. Quite a few years ago there was repeated reports of a pair of these cats on the moutain behind Silo Ridge golf course??
  17. I agree 100%, i was going to reply with the same basic information, there have been Mountain Lion "sightings" reported a few times to DEC officials who give you the "look" that would make you think they know something we don't.
  18. Nice rig, good luck with it!!, beautiful tribute to Al. on another note, does the inlet pipe in the rear compartment take up as much room as it looks in the photo??
  19. I tried talking to the Chief about getting some of those on 36 Truck... he didn't bite. (yet) on another note, i'm not sure who was wearing those pants but it reminds me of the gear the "Fire Duck" would wear while doing traffic control for the carnival...
  20. Where is the Hahn located in this photo?? there is a similar rig at the Lake George Escape campground but i thought that one was an old Ossining rig. It looks familiar next to the boat trailers.
  21. Well written response and a great job by YFD!!
  22. I don't know the past Chief history in Wassaic that well but... was George Butts a Chief??
  23. I had heard that this was some form of "Civil Defense" numbering(not sure of how true this is) and that was obviuosly way before my time, i know Wassaic used those numbers right up to when the new numbering system in Dutchess was put in place, i know some old Chiefs from that era, i'll have to ask.
  24. Good stuff !!! there is one of a very young Jackie McEnroe....
