  1. what is happening to the 1955 rear half of ladder 26 rye. if it is going to juck yard i have a friend who only has a 1955 horse and looking for the trailer.
  2. the rig that served eastchester was not a peterbuilt but was a 1974 brockway 361 that was powered by a 6-71n that ran as rescue 5. In Port Chester we ran patrol 4 which was a heavy rescue and one of the first hurst tools in use in westchester county. at one time in the 70's it was the buisest vol rescue around. rescue 40 which replaced the 1969 internatonal/gm/gerstenslager had some big shoes to fill. sadlly patrol 4 was cut up to make a bar in a firehouse in rockland county

Both the Briarcliff rigs were traded into mack, but mack did not take trade in's. they were bought by the sales rep a.k.e. carl tougle the mack theft and brought to his Clarmount Vermount warehouse were he sold them to new fire companys. the ladder went to a town called millton N. H. I have a pit. of it panited red. and the pump went to a town near lake weiinakasappa.
  6. I have two firetrucks that have plates and ins. on them. 1957 mack B and 1958 ward lafrance and one 1948 ward lafrance that as ins only, because it is not on the road. I have over 20 trucks in my colection. if you need any help with plates just call

  11. sounds like you may some driving lessons in big rigs. how about a twin stick lo hole main box hooked up to a 237 turbo mack with a set of 44s in the rear, or a 671 det. with a 643 allison. or a five speed main box GMC with a vacuam 2 speed rear. any time you like I can teach you be a better officer/driver dad

  14. I agree 100% with you. owned by the county matained by the county. A nice classie looking rig that can be donated by a westchester dept. or I will offer the use of one of my rigs anytime.

  21. THERE HAS BEEN A BULL DOG IN PORT CHESTER SINCE 1926 STARTING WITH 1926 MACK AC SENIOR TILLER LADDER 30. IN SERVICE TILL 1948. 1944 MACK L-85 ,500 GAL TANK, REPLACED IN JULY 1964 BY A C-95 1,OOO GAL,BOTH RAN AS ENG 58 TILL AUG 81. IN JAN 1957 PLACED IN SERVICE A MACK B-95 1,OOO GPM OPEN CAB WHICH WAS REPLACED IN OCT 1981 BY A 1981 CF685 1,000 GPM ENGINE STILL IN FRONT LINE SERVICE. THE 57 B MODEL STILL IN GREAT SHAPE OWNED BY DEPT. MEMBER AND THE TRALER FROM THE 26 LADDER IS A DOCK IN A UPSTATE NEW YORK LAKE.
  22. P.C.F.D. DID NOT HAVE A RESERVE ENG NUMBER UNTIL LATE 90s. WHEN RYE BROOK WAS FORMED THEY WERE GIVING ENG 14, 15, AND LAD 30 P. C. F. D. HAD LAD 30 BEFORE TL 2. THEY ALSO TOOK ENG 16 FOR ANY FUTURE USE. WE HAD AN ENG 16 FOR A SHORT WHILE, OLD ENG 64 1968 OREN UNTIL THE VILLAGE MANAGER TOLD THE CHEFS TO GET RID OF IT! NOW YOU KNOW WHO IS THE BOSS.
  23. WHILE SCOURING THE WOODS IN UPSTATE N.Y. I FOUND A LIME GREEN MACK C 95 FORMERLY VERPLANCK ENG 127. TOOK SOME PICTURES AND WILL POST SOON.
