  1. I think that their should be a law that say's everyone must take a shower everyday. If they don't take one, the local engine company comes out and sprays them down with the deck gun mixed with some soap.
  2. Tis the season for morons! Kids just don't understand the seriousness of these things, especially in todays world.
  3. I agree with both of you, I do the same thing (a little advice from a police officer friend of mine). As far as mentioning affiliations, I got vollie plates and a couple stickers on the windshield. If they say something to me about them, I answer them about it. I learned not to say anything else but yes sir, no sir unless asked otherwise.
  4. Insane! Talk about possible protocol violations if that person did have life threatening injuries (airway compromise, so on)
  5. Yea you have to call DMV in Albany and they will send the form to you. Once completed they will give you a sticker that must be place between the window and the tint to let officers know you have a permit. I do know someone who was pulled over for window tint on the front windows, the state trooper forced him to remove it right there and also gave him a ticket. (that was the only reason he got pulled over)

  7. I helped get a drunk arrested one night a long time ago, I was coming back in the ambulance from Butterfield (yes very long time ago) and this car flew up behind me flashing lights so we pull over thinking someones hurt. Not the case the girl was lost and was trying to get to Albany. Their was at lest a half dozen bottles of booze and half drank and she was slurring her speech so we were just outside of Beacon on Rt 9D and heading into the city so I gave her directions into downtown Beacon, called for the cops and she goes about a mile and pulls over "Are you sure this is the way?" sure follow me as she was tailgating the ambulance the cops showed up and nailed her for a DWI. Some of the things you come across in EMS, you can't make this stuff up! Good job Chief!
  8. Looks like Nutty1 nailed the time
  9. 99,929 - @ 8 am 8/10/07 I predict today at 5 pm! Good luck to the winner!
  10. I look at this way an incident happens today, we will say minor MVA. you get their and the people tell you "I'm OK" you go with no patient found. Now here we are a year later, and the occupant of the car is sueing...you because they actually were injured but the ambulance just showed, spoke to us and left. Now keep in mind they say now that "They did say they were hurt but you didn't help them." Where's your proof? a small note on a blank PCR saying no patient found? Now lets say they are suing you because you were their and didn't transport them to the hospital even though they were hurt. This time you have a PCR signed by the patient that says (well we know all the flabbier). Guess what you have something in your favor. Just my opinion, since the state doesn't want to do anything about that "Grey" area, who is right and who is wrong?
  11. Let's Go METS![
  12. Like the fire service doesn't have enough problems of our own with firefighters breaking the law. Then add the "Fake" firefighters to the picture and it all looks the same, those damn firefighters!
  13. I want to leave this country! People have ruined our society and this example is just about the dumbest! I think she won't have to work at Mc d's anymore and might end up with some spending cash for her honeymoon If the manager noticed it and still let it pass then why wasn't she also arrested
  14. Nice utility, just what my dept is looking fori
  15. Excellent topic, My rule is that if I go to a scene and the I talk to the person they get an RMA. If I'm canceled by a competent person (someone I know that is trained) then I consider my self canceled and off I go. How many people actually do Ram's for someone lets say driving along hit a pedestrian. Now the pedestrian get medical attention obviously but what about the occupants of the car? They are also a patient until deemed otherwise.
  16. Really sad that someone could forget something like that
  17. This was posted several months ago, I think during the winter
  18. Nice, can I go for a ride?
  19. Pretty neat! Is it used on any special calls?
