  4. We have a booster line on our cureent rig and i cant count the amount of illegal burns we have used it on. our new rig will most likely have one in addition hopefully a trashline in the bummper or step as it is a 50/50 split in our house on who wants a trashline. like everyone has said though there r places where you can u use it but even more places you shouldnt even think about it
  5. here is an idea i had a few months back. I decidedto make a map of hydrant locations that we would be able to print out/ or at best be able to give online access to our mutual aid departments. o found google maps to be perfect and came out with this New Fairfield Hydrant maps If you zoom in on map you are able to see pretty close to pin point locations of each one, it tells you what size hook up it is what size tank it is and in most cases nearest cross street. if a new location is set up i update it as well as if a hydrant is O.O.S.
  6. I hope alot fo people sign this it will I'm sure really help them out #117168
  7. Well First off 10-15 min hooking and unhooking from a hydrant...if it dosen't work and no other hydrants there send next in engine to water source then drop a folda tank or 2- 50ft lines to hook up too. second-I have a customer i plow for who has a nyc style hydrant at the end of there driveway for decoration, but I could almost list all 72 tank-dry hydrants we have in our town and i know this is not one, on top of it we don't have any pressurized hydrants other then a selct few private comm. and shopping centers. Third- how about testing hydrants? we are in the process of doing that for this year as we do at the begining of every year and sometimes throughout if the levels of lakes and ponds change. A suggestion for that chief GET OUT AND TEST HYDRANTS!!!!!
  8. ok...well i am gunna post my mind if it get deleted ohwell. I posted a post as i have seen many many many times before on other threads saying can't we all just get along. as much as i made it a joke i was being serious. It got deleted the first time so i posted it again and gone again, deleted. I am going to say it again maybe in a different phrase so hopefully ti wont be deleted. we need to all just get along! we are all adults here and we are acting like children. the staff needs to take things membership say with a grain of salt and the membership need to(which i think most of us do) thank the staff a little more often so they dont forgot how thankfull we are for this site. i do hope this post does not get deleted. I AM NOT trying to fuel this fire anymore(nor was i before). the staff in my opinion and this is an opinion site (i believe correct me if im wrong) needs to lightin up and remember how how this whole argument started. Not with a member but with a staff member so do not blaim the membership in dragging this on and speaking there mind because it all started with a staff member doing the same. my $.02
  9. :bummp: Tickets are selling get ahold of me if your interested !!!!!!!1
  10. CT requires you have a "Q" endors to drive a fire ening/tanker/rescue. but you need only a regular licence to drive a amb. i took the Q class two years ago and all it is, is a cdl class/air brakes class with a practical at the end done by a state dmv officer.good class paid for by my dept. years ago the dept would of paid for a cdl class and the test would have been done on a town highway truck. wish it would still be that way because like you said the cdl class is crazy expensive! it is what it is. however it does keep people from behind the wheel that really shouldnt be

  14. the trucks should be delivered in a few weeks they need to go to firematic first. the dumps on the tanker are under the 911 stickers and i have no clue why no chevrons on back on engine?!? ill have to ask those guys when they get back if there not back yet
  15. They just issued another brodcast telling mariners to use caution as there is a jet engine under water in area of lincolin tunnel.
  16. One resource you would need to keep in mind are there a a few tug boats all the way up the hudson untill about the bear mt bridge that i know of that keep work boats and tug boats in the water year round. I know of three in the verplank area that are in the water right now and i would believe be able to drive through ice, slow but steady. Tugboat are also fairly low to the waterline making ti easy to transfer people.
  17. hummmm sounds like a great thursday morning...I gotta drive to buffalo in that weather
  18. There is only one directional on the car. the bar on the interior of the truck is a Red LED bar which is visible through the glass when hatch is closed and there is also a switch to shut it off so it does not blind the ic working at the rear. When the switch is shut off two lin4 leds are switched on at the bottom corners of the hatch opening alowing oncoming visibility while not blinding everyone. I must say the truck is very well planned out and if very functional. Looks even better in person. Thanks to specialty for doing a great job as always.
  19. Great time last year at this event!!!>>>>Word is there are many more trucks participating this year!
