just wanted to tell you about wc-tlc its run though the county police and its to help drivers from westchester at the airport at westchester and ofset the cost of nyc tlc there was a big fight with nyc a few years back about westchester drivewrs getting tlc tags to drive in nyc so westchester had to do something they do not set fares or such local towns and villages and cities do that

i will never be sold on this idea in a same town like larchmont because when a fire dept has to send a ladder and an engine on a ems call it means they are just bored because their work load is so low lol be real 2 engines on a ems call is crazy these guys are just looking for work that does not exist they need to grow up

i still say larchmont needs a full time village manager like other towns and villages have around westchester than maybe the cops and fireman can get contracts done that the voters agree on

lfd budget is more then the tmfd becuase of ot the lvolunteers do not drive any front line rigs becuase they voted not to about 20 years ago the only thing the volunteers drive is the rescue and some times not even that so a paid personnel has to be called back in if there is even a stand by or mutual aid should the tax payers paid for m/a like pelham and pmfd do with mt vernon fd only send the carreer staff

these yards are called sub yards not active in the warm weather

that looks like the wassiac yard or the one just north of brewster on 22 which is only used as a storage for salt in the winter

well heres the latest about the chief in larchmont as of 9pm tonite the board adjorned the meeting with no chief appointed i believe besides the mayor didnot do her home work and the individual in question was not chosen by civil service rules no interview of a list after taking a test plus not to start a fight but once you become a chief you are no longer in the union so you are now is a supervisor. Whats the difference if you get paid or not to supervise? i have family in the Lfd career staff and they are not all in favor of this and the way this was all bought about its no secret that paid vs volunteer is a war thats been going on for years (almost as long as Iraq) ha ha what Larchmont needs is what the town of Mamaroneck and the village of mamaroneck have already a professional manager who will manger all village affairs and expenses

this merger idea has been around the politicians for years politics doesnot belong in the emergency services at all thats what this is LARCHMONT is 1 mile sq. with more ems calls than fires about 7 to 1 i ll bet the town has around 400 calls a year with out ems this merger makes aLOT OF SENSE but there is so much to do villages are governed by different laws then fire districts are the town of mamaroneck also has a service award program which lachmont does not have one if you want to read the report look at lfdny.org its very interesting good luck larchmont

this is not good news for the 80 or so new employees of dot who were to be hired in this budget and the many jobs and pay raises that the dot in the lower hudson valley were praying for as of apr 1st the dot contract has expired and we are working with out one no negotations are scheuled yet as of today so alot of people were hoping for the dot to take over the road again the way we were told was the thurway didnot waNT IT AFTER OCTOBER 2007 even though the 14 million dollars was there in the budget theyt said they were going to use it for the employees of the hudson valley region to ofset our pay well it sounds like goverment at its best again
