  1. Those conversations are made by ESI Equipment in Montgomeryville, PA. I am the upstate NY dealer.
  2. HME couldn't sell in their backyard?
  3. I've never been to the show but I'll ask how are the vendors crappy. Is it just a bunch of t-shirts? I'm guessing they have apparatus and other emergency vehicles there.
  4. It doesn't matter what the IA Lt. was doing, he should be setting the example. If he was speeding then he should have stopped placed the keys on the roof hands on the dash, with all windows down. If he gave the patrol officer lip which it looks like he did then it looks like he got what he had coming. Really strange that were 4 other cats that cost by though.
  5. US Tanker: Just delivered to Quaker Street FD Schenectady County just off of I-88. This is an answer to the request from a commanding officer for a tanker & manpower or an engine & manpower. Quaker Street wanted to make this unit truly a multipurpose unit and fill the requests of other departments while utilizing only one unit. They also needed a second piece of apparatus for a back-up. This unit is built on a Freightliner chassis with a Hale 1250 gpm Hale pump with an APR 2000 gwt. http://www.ustanker.com/Deliveries/Delivery/Default.aspx?OrderId=1198
  6. I'm wondering with a front mount pump have you considered shutting off the grill and bumper flashers? That way the operator can see without being blinded by the LEDs . The other option is that you could at least knock them down the LEDs to a lower power?
  7. If you go with a true full 4 door 4x4 you will be limited in the size of the module you are able to use. I am not sure about the TerraStar but I will look into it.
  8. Here is an article about my latest delivery. http://www.stargazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2013304200034&nclick_check=1
  9. It's usually written to the specifications that the vehicle shall be delivered under it's own power to "shake:" the bugs out of it first.
  10. Rechassis 1990/200 Ford L 9000 Hackney Rescue 2013 Kenwoth T-370 PACCAR 330 Hp Allison EVS 3000 6 Speed Unit was originally beverage truck donated to Village and Fire Department in 2000 and refurbished by Hackney. Refurbish in 2000 included 25 KW generator 6 Bottle CACADE system 2 HRT Reels 2 Electric Reels Wil-Burt Night Scan light tower
  11. Here is a unit I delivered 21 years ago. It has everything 500 GPM 450 GWT 50 GFT. It has an Onan 15 KW generator and 25' Will-Burt light tower. A CASCADE system and a hydraulic air compressor.
  12. $ 50.00 for a bid package. There's a customer who knows what they want and are willing to pay for it.
  13. I think the Chief and Union could come to an agreement for October that the crews could wear pink t shirts while on duty but when October is over it's back to the regular uniform. If there was/is a function that requires class A's then that is what should be worn. Yes uniform policy is policy but the Chief and the Union usually agree and set that policy so an amendment in support of breast cancer isn't far off base. I agree there are many causes I don't think Voyager of the Seas has enough area to hold all the magnetic ribbons supporting someone's cause. My daughter has Sickle Cell disease can I get a ribbon?
  14. Dodge was never noted for having a stellar frame rail system. Maybe it has changed.
  15. Our dealership has one brand. The bigger dealers have little loyalty it usually comes down to who will allow them the best percentage on a sale. The reason they are about even on pricing is so the dealer can give you many options for the same general price. Brand A is low price, bigger profit for the dealer, Brand B is middle of the road smaller/average profit, Brand C high end smallest profit. The thing about all three of them they are all sold by dealer # 1 It doesn't matter what they sell because they have all the bases covered. I sell one brand and make a fair profit on it, I do not make a killing nor do I give a unit away. My units are high quality and we stand behind they all the way. If you research the big dealers some you will find they are changing brands very often and it is about the business and the profit. I believe in crew safety and patient safety. Nothing is more important to me.
  16. No better way to fly the Colors. Excellent!
  17. I believe the Type II's are AEV's
  18. Just for fun and laughs nothing more kids.
  19. KME used to be on State Contract I think that contract has expired with little action. I too have seen a dealer bring two bids. I have also seen a bidder write the specification for a customer, not a surprise there but he also wrote the FEMA grant, and the FD surprise above all surprises they awarded him the bid! Legal, I think NOT1 If you receive one bid you can take that one bid. You will have to show that the bid was publicly advertised at least 14 business days before the bid opening. You do not have to have to send the bid to three bidders but you will have to send the bid to those who request it. You can charge a nominal fee for the bid package but I am not sure what the guidelines are. Yes it is true you can buy what you want but please do this if you want brand x be honest about it with the salesmen from brand y and z. I will be happy to give you a qualifying buy but please don't waste my time and lead me along it makes for a much better relationship with other dealers who may need someday. I know it's business but I am honest with my dealings I think i should receive honesty back. Last but not least T-6061 is T-6061 no matter where you buy it, as is 304L Stainless Steel. We all buy the same pump and the same engine. I can build you an engine that is just as good as brand X,Y, and Z. You shouldn't discount a truly competitive bid.
  20. I know we have the ability to support the product and I know we are concerned about our customers. I think we can do it.
  21. I'm sure they have engineered it well (almost aka puc pump problems) but how in heck are they going to cool it? I don"t see any side intakes and if they have a no grill front then what? No oval bashing just a question.
  22. It's called a Diagrammatic Pump Panel It was first developed by John Greible from Saulsbury Fire apparatus in the late 80's. Sorry folks NO Pierce did not develop this! I don't recall what fire department but I do believe it was near St Louis MO. It was a spartan rescue pumper with the panel elevated in a compartment at the left rear of the apparatus with a deck gun close at hand.
  23. ALF announcement coming out soon. Paperwork has been signed. Dealership established.
  24. Do you know what is going in the officer's rear compartment with the PVC pipe and 1/4 turn valve?
  25. Yes the three letter and number designation came about several years ago. The DOC Commissioner was passed by a transport vehicle at a very high rate of speed. That was unacceptable in his eyes. As with any other state agency they have many similar vehicles, so in order to determine which vehicle was speeding past him, he had all vehicles labeled in this fashion.
