  1. Steve has way toooo much time on his hands.
  2. What ever happened to the defendants responsiblity. If you recieve a summons, don't you have a responsibilty to send it in with a guilty or not guilty plead and also follow up yourself. What ever happened to self responsiblity? Why is it always someone else's fault if you get suspended.
  3. bvfdjc316- yes, I was fortunate to have the car assigned to me. As far as switching from a suburban to a tahoe, it was a timing thing. We missed out on the original state bid for the suburban and happen to find the Tahoe. We are very happy though. I believe BVFD is getting a new tahoe also, rumor has it.
  4. The old 2033, a 2003 ford F-350, has now become utility 6. The reason for the three radio's is that one is the trunking radio, one is low band and one is high band.
  5. Gentlemen, Capt Mike Dragonetti and his staff offer several courses, including elevator operations. He has his own website- dragonrescue.com. You can also e-mail him at mdragonetti@dragonrescue.com. My dept has used him and are extremely pleased. The quote "you get what you pay for" says it all. Happy New Year Mike! Joe-BHFD.
  6. Gentlemen, Just a little reminder, there is always two sides to a story. This is in no way a black eye for the mohegan fire dept. What ever Mr Boddie does in his personal business life, is just that. He was issued a chiefs car to respond to fires, hence, it could be used in his daily activities in his district. Furthermore, this is no way a fireman vs cop thing, it has absolutely nothing to do with this. Why the press has to add all this other information is uncalled for. His bad business practices have nothing to do with the fire dept. Give the guy a break, lets get the whole story first before we make an assumption.- just my opinion.
  7. I shave my head because I'm folically challenged. I think the perception is more directed toward the officers that have the military hair cut (Jar Head). Plus, the short hair cut is easy to manage so you don't look like a mess.
  8. I found absolutely nothing amusing about this. A complete waste of time and police resources because someone wanted to try and make the police look bad. Its not egg in anyones face, it just goes to show what society has come to. Shame on them and thier parents. I thought this website was to support and better the emergency services, not mock them! The joke is on all of us!
  9. Sorry if any took my post wrong. I'm in no way excusing these people for thier actions, everyone and anyone in custody should be treated with a degree of respect. I just wanted to clarify the difference.
  10. I just viewed the video and made a phone call. The uniformed personel are Correction Officers "Peace Officers", not police officers. The media got it wrong again. Quick to blame the cops.
  11. Dear Fellow Firefighters and Police Officers, I just wanted to THANK everyone for the thoughts and prayer's. They Worked!! As of right now, my surgery was a complete success and I have no traces of cancer in my body. I've returned to work this week and been active in the fire dept also. Hope to see you out there. It's been a long road, but thanks to you , I'm here. Stay Positive!! Deputy Chief Joseph M. Liburdi
  12. Oneeyed, As I told you earlier, "It's 10 and a 1/2 minutes that will change the rest of your life". Keep up the good work and keep doing what your doing. Be safe. JL.
  13. I don't think people are taking this topic to personal, I think there's a lot of people on this site that deal with these situations on a daily basis. Again, nothing was gained from this. As a police academy instructor and FTO instructor, you can only teach what you know and hope that something is retained. We can't speak for this officer, nor can we know what he was thinking at this time. He only knows, we can only make opinions. Hopefully the Baltimore Police Dept can correct this through education and training. Lets try this- Next time you see one of your local police officers, say "hello" or "hows it going today?"- Instead of something wise or derogetory. Lets not let something like this happen in OUR communities. I hope our officers will do the same back. ATTITUDE is everything.
  14. Has anyone bothered to get the FACTS. Has anyone viewed the FULL video. Its seems to me that the officer is guilty, until proven innocent.
