I'm sure that SFRD units from their current stations (E1, E6 and E7) could respond into the area of the Belltown fire district and meet the NFPA standards for response time and personel. Belltown would not be without protection.

This all depends on the city administration. The city could encourage all sides( SFRD, L786, The VFD's & LRPDA) to sit down and talk. From what I've seen to this point I don't see the City supporting talks.

It's scumbags like this that are a disgrace to the fire service. Here is someone who not only holds rank (Assistant chief) but is also a senior member of his department. If he is the kind of person who would officially submit a letter like this which is full of lies and rumors, then what do you think he is telling the other members of his dept??
I can only imagine the brainwashing that’s he does! Especially to newer and younger members. And people wonder why there is a so called rift between volunteer and paid firefighters here in Stamford! What a joke it is and how unfortunate it is that we have people like this spoiling and brainwashing what would probably be good willed firefighters who otherwise might have truly had public safety as there #1 concern!!
There’s no need to write a rebuttal, the BOR knows the deal. Are people like this the reason the system in Stamford is so mest up? Or are people like this holding rank and titles as a result of things being so mest up?

I was there and it was great presentation by Chief Terpak. The chief is a great public speaker and if you get the chance to see his presentation don't miss out.

Thankfully a no brainer is right up my alley. So your concern is the city is going to have to hire more career firefighters? Isn't the mayor trying to fix this by hiring more career firefighters?

Very true about people's feelings toward the federal government and what people feel is right. It seems to me this is a pretty clear cut case of violating federal law. It's seems in the maryland case one firefighter brought the case and all the firefighters who "volunteered" got paid for it. Is there one guy in long ridge who maybe didn't plan for his retirement and see this as a way to cash in? Maybe a past disgruntled employee of LRFCO would consider bringing suit. I just wonder how this will all play out when there is a new taxing district and more revenue to pay these guys.
