  7. Well I just returned to work from my Cruise and all my co-workers are telling me I got spotted wearing my BRAVO shirt on the cruise. Ha ha. To Funny!!!! Yeah I know the cruise ended on Saturday but I took a few extra days to, um, recuperate. That cruise was a blast...... Thanks EJS for posting the pic of me.... ha ha.... Glad i wasn't to, well you know, yet
  8. Well I have to agree that 10 minutes is way to long myself. However this is what the departments in the county (Putnam) want. It wasn't just some number that the head of B.E.S. came out with, This was a number that the Fire Advisory Board / Chiefs Association came up with. Maybe it's time that they re-visit this issue and reduce the time. The ambulances only get 5 minutes in Putnam before mutual aid or whatever, why can't the FD's get about the same time?

  14. Sitting at Putnam 911 (3:10am)- Just dispatched an ambulacne for someone with back pain from a fall earlier yesterday (9/16) afternoon. Gotta love it!!! Same BS as 67-L57 had going on. Why can't they call when it happens.
  15. Per a post on another message board for Putanm County, Bob Cuomo states: **Update** Tonight, at a special meeting, the Putnam County Legislature unanimously approved the funding increase for the ALS system for the balance of 2007. Also, a formal RFP process will be followed to determine if a more economical alternative can be found. So...the matter is resolved. Just an FYI to all - we shall see
  16. Well I will def. be going to the next legi meeting provided I am not working a "C" line. Just remember 1 thing, the way the legislature works - If Putnam ALS is not on the agenda at the meeting you are attending you are NOT going to be allowed to talk about it. They have a rule that you can only talk about things that are on the agenda for that evening. If you start to deviate they shut off your mic and tell you to stay on agenda items or sit down. Oh - Freedom of speech you say??? Not when your addressing YOUR public officials. We all need to band together

  21. Just received an e-mail on this, 23:30 on Wednesday Evening....wanted to pass it along My thoughts and Prayers go out to all who knew him Momentarily ago, I received a call from Bob Moon, President of the WCVFA with truly sad and very regretful news. Joe Piazzi, life member of the Westchester County Volunteer Firemen's Association, Past Director of the Association, member of the Putnam/No. Westchester Fire Police Assn., Hudson Valley VFA, Westchester Cty. Assoc. of Fire Chiefs, and the Briarcliff Manor VFD, passed away this evening following his response to numerous emergency calls within his Fire District. His death has been labeled LODD according to John Jackson, Westchester County's Fire Coordinator. No further details are available at this time. Additional details are expected to be released at Thursday evening's meeting of the Board of Directors of the WCVFA being held at Livingston Hose, Dobbs Ferry. Joe Piazzi was such a kind individual, friend to all, and very dedicated member of the Associations to which he belonged. We have indeed lost a close and very dear friend. Doing as he has always done, he passed away doing for others. God Bless his soul. He is loss to us all. Robert Ruston, Secretary, WCVFA
