Ok just to clarify: The system has been on a pilot program with the Mahopac Falls and Mahopac Fire Depts and the County Special Teams(Haz-Mat, Coordinators, Fire Police, Fire Investigation). At 911, the system is used mainly for EMS when it comes to the FD's. The county is in the process of expanding it to all fire and EMS departments. And as a dispatcher at Putnam for four years, this is one of the few systems Putnam has done well in picking and implementing and I truly appreciate the ease of looking at the dispatch screen for whos responding instead of shuffling through phone calls. Tonight, December 5th at 7:00 p.m. will be the Mahopac Falls Fire Dept. Christmas Tree Lighting held at our headquarters, 17 Luccaro Ln, Mahopac Falls. Right of Route 6N by Red Mills. All are welcomed. We will have refreshments and Santa arriving.

Definitly IMO ground transport to Westchester Medical Center or nearest trauma center. The more agitated my patient gets, the more aggravated the injury can get. Plus, the helicopter crew, in a small, tight place, probably would not want to deal with such a patient due to the constraints on movement.

That is a great story. Well done by the Welsh DIspatch Center and the NYPD. I think the farthest I have ever had to get help to was in California in San Diego County. That was interesting

Just so happens I am a Mahopac Falls 'guy' EMT and do alot of these stand bys at the high school. When we go the ambulance is technically out of service for any other calls but I can't say there haven't been times that it has left instead of letting calls go mutual aid or calls that need an immediate response.

Although, I have alot of work on my hands at work work doing marine resources for mutual aid, I'll see if I can get around and make a list for posting on the county webpage.
