  1. Congrats and good luck!!!!
  2. I read something about this several days ago, I believe on lohud, com, and there was no mention of this mope being a firefighter, anywhere.
  3. Yup, just another example of the P*** poor type of journalism, but it sells their papers.
  4. I never said it would not come from the taxpayers, I do have some common sense. BUT it has already been stated that the County is NOT putting any additional funds out, period. AND if you read my previous post in its entirety, the comment about the football was aimed at the inabikity of these clowns to see beyond the ends of their noses. HOWEVER, we do not have much time. Would you rather lose ALS, or get the towns to help with the cost. I do believe that the provision of Emergency Services is the responsibility of each local Municipality, not that of the County.
  5. Well, I guess you'll have to open a franchise in East Fishkill! Then you could call it Nathan's Nathan's?????????
  6. How does this sound? Putnam puts in the same amount they have, give or take a little either way. Then each Town kicks in an amount based on their call volume, to make up the difference. Let PCBES be the Administrator of the system. This way, the Towns aren't stuck with the whole cost, but just their share. The only other thing they need to do is take the damn football out of the politics and put it back on the playing field.
  7. Sounds like a great idea! I just added 2 ICE #s
  8. Floor? Like hell, you mean outside in the doghouse, don't ya? LOL
  9. My sincere wishes for a quick and safe return to your member and your brother, chief17. Chris
  10. Best umder 20 Croton Falls
  11. I just went to the County weg site and clicked on the Legislature button and immediately got that error message that the site is disabled or removed, or some such momsense. I geuss they must have been inundated, huh???
  12. Great Post, Duane!!!! I agree 100%!!!
  13. Theme song for those guys (sung to the tune of the Bandaid commercial) I am stuck on Stupid, cause Stupid's stuck on me.
  14. Having read a post on a local website, it's pretty bovious that at least some members of the Board of Leslislators in this County do need to be educated, not only of the benefits of ALS but the difference between an EMT and a Paramedic.
  15.   DUH!!!!!! STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. In my Department our guys are trained in engine work, search, rescue vent, salvage, etc. Since we do not have a "truck" we just do about all of it, unless the scenario really warrents the use of a truck, then we call for one through the M/A system.
  17. Amen to that one, Goose!!! That guy shouldn't just be fired without a FULL police investigation. He should be held civilly AND criminally liable
  18. What a Revoltin' Developement this is!!!!!!!!! As a current Putnam resident and member of a FD that covers a small part of the county, I find this absolutely REDICLULOUS!!!!!!!!! Somebody has a severe case of cranial analitis! and they better get over it and quick!!!!! As MPACE2-299 said they can't afford ALS , but they can afford a golf course that keeps losing money? Assinine!!! It's high time to put the football back on the field and get it out of politics!!! JMHO!!!
  19. Whatever you and Jim decide to do is fine. I couldn't think of a better recipient for the first Bravo points Donation.
  20. No, I guess not, seems there's quite a crowd every launch. Despite the noise, that must be an impressive thing to be there to see up close and personal!
  21. North Salem is also a Part Time PD, like Lewisboro, supported by SP Somers. We had the contract with Westchester, during the transition from the constables who had red lights and sirens in personal vehicles which they used for patrol. When the town, went with full fledged Police Officers, the organization of the NSPD, hiring and training process took some time, so they contracted with WCPD in thr interim.
  22. JSG, I think you mean the electronic, siren, but in the situation you mentioned above, the electronic eould be just as much of a PITA.
  23. No, just somebody who knows their sirens. Of course the good ole screeeeeeeaaaaaaaammmmmeeerrr is an easy one to recognize. And beside you are MOS, aren't you? Dispatchers (IMHO) are just as much MOS as the rest of us.
  24. I posted under another thread previously, but we had a call some years back, involving cans of spray paint stored in a basement atop the oil burner. It was during late winter or very early spring. The homeowner, of offspring thereof, had his car in the garage, doing some work on it and had put 6 or8 cans of gloss black soray paint on top of the furnace to warm up. After half or three quarters of an hour, they exploded with enough force from the basement to actually blow the front door, frame sidelite windows and all abuot 35 feet from the house. So I would definitely say that you want to be real careful with that stuff. It was nothing short of a miracle that noone was injured, especially considering the fact that somrone was in a shower in the basement in quite close proximity to the furnace.
