  1. I'm sure we can arrange something.
  2. Hawthorne's L56 is a 2008 not 2007.
  3. I think you mean the Hackley School? If so according to the thread below there was about 30 departments involved including EMS and the relocates. http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopi...chool&st=60
  4. Agreed, or the IC can remove the remote for the keyless entry (if they have one) from his/her key ring and just carry that in his pocket. I know of a lot of IC's that leave their car running with the keys in it during an incident but they usually don't stray to far from the vehicle after the initial size up. This incident could have happened to anyone not just a fire chief, I guess the real question is how many chiefs do leave the keys in the car while it's running? How many people leave the keys in the car while running to into the store or deli to grab the newspaper or cup of coffee?
  5. Hawthorne's engine was never requested like ladder55 said only an engine from Fairview was requested to stand by in Elmsford's HQ. Is there any idea as to how the debris caught fire? Was there any damage to the hotel itself?
  6. If I remember correctly from the article these people were using some sort of Internet based phone line that a fake address would come into the 911 centers so if the call was made from say some address in New York they would have the computer give a California address. I also believe they said that the police started to trace the IP address from the computer to track these people down.
  7. I heard the Town of Mamaroneck get dispatched as the FAST team but then get canceled by 2501 because is was a fully involved structure with no one inside.(per 60 control on Fire 15)
  8. Sorry I don't mean to hijack your Dutchess thread but is he doing a top 10 for Westchester as well?
  9. Tattoo Me in Dobbs Ferry for the first one. I then went back to add to it and went to Tre and he matched the first half perfectly to Smitty's work. I am planning to visit them shortly for my third and would recommend them to anyone. Tattoo Shop in Pville for the second. I am much more satisfied with my first one in Dobbs.
  10. I find that having the waist straps buckled takes the weight off my shoulders hence being more comfortable. The longer I have the pack on the tighter I make the waist straps only to distribute the weight to my waist as opposed to having it on my shoulders and back. Just my 2 cents!
  11. Looks great good luck with the truck NRFD. I believe there was a topic about NRFD getting a new rescue, any updates on that?

  13. A few months ago I took a building construction class at the county training center, the class was originally set up to be held on one night when we got to class the instructor said there was a mistake and it was supposed to be two nights. He told us he would schedule the final night in the next month or two and to check the county website for the second half of the class to be posted. I have been checking and haven't seen anything about it yet. Does anyone know if I just missed the posting and the class was held or if there is a place I can call and check to see if I missed it? I know this is a long shot but I figured I would give it a try. Thanks in advance for any information that you guys can give me.
  14. When do they need the test by? I think we are doing the test soon I will find out and get back to you.
  15. It has been a very busy past couple of weeks. I hope this doesn't last any longer then it already has. Stay safe everyone!
  16. I have a question(a little off topic but I don't see the need to start a whole new thread about it) and its only a question not meant to start an argument or get people pissed but from what I understand Fairview staffs the ladder with only a driver when that ladder is called for m/a do the pull ffs off there engine crews to staff the ladder? and if so do they call back more ffs to staff the rigs they were pulled from?
  17. Bump! Wetdown is today at 2pm at Hawthorne FD everyone is welcome! Yes there will be T-shirts and long sleeve shirts for sale I just don't know how much they are off the top of my head.
  18. Congrats I always enjoy reading your detailed IAs they are always complete and full of factual information. Keep 'em coming!
  19. Lots of orange on arrival is right! Great job by everyone on scene today everyone worked very well together. Kudos to the first crew on scene protecting the exposure preventing the 2nd house to catch fire! Job well done by all.
  20. The class looks really interesting I'm taking the class Saturday.
  21. That overturned play killed me, the first pass was def. not an illegal pass he clearly tossed it behind him but whatever its over with now. All that matters is that the GMEN are 9-1!!! LETS GO BIG BLUE!!!
  22. In my dept. our ambulances have hidden buttons on the outside the allows you to unlock all the doors from the outside if the keys are locked inside. They only other idea I have about locking the cars/ambulances is to take the remote for the keyless entry off the key ring and leave it in your pockets at all times then all you have to do is lock the rig on your way out. I don't know a lot about police cars but i don't think many if any have the keyless entry. That might be something the department heads should consider looking into I am sure if it stops 1 rig from being stolen its worth getting.
  23. Bnechis is there a website or a place people can see what the ISO ratings are for an area? Sorry for the off topic question I am just curious what the ISO rating is for my area.
  24. I believe that both MVAs turned out to be RMAs.
  25. Looks great. I have a few questions about it. 1. What is inside it? 2. Can it be reserved by other fire depts to bring to there open houses? and if so far would you be willing to travel? also would it come staffed or would the dept running the show have to man it? 3. Was this built and painted by department members? 4. Is it in service yet? Sorry for the thousands of questions. Once again great job! Looking forward to hearing more about it.
