No, it is not a DQ or an automatic failure and no they do not take points off. As long as they answered the required 60 questions for the towns and villages, the only things anyone who did all 105 was waste time and energy on unnecessary questions...and yes...prove that they can not follow simple instructions...

A well known/respected member of YFD posted here what they dispatch and what policy is and additional posters AFTER that post, write "I think" this is how YFD operates. right or wrong, its not needed.
Can we try to read the post 1st, before posting. Thank you.

Policies? Wow, if only more departments actually wrote those pesky things. I figured there was a policy to send someone with mutual aid and knew it wasn't "self-dispatching". Calling it self-dispatching was a very poor choice of words. Unless there is a policy or discussion with the requesting agency, sending more or less than is asked for undermines the entire operation. Time that nonsense stopped!
If people actually stopped commenting when someone answered the question properly on this site, there'd be half as many posts. But hey, we know what a department in Maryland does and what someone in Stamford thinks. Why listen to the YFD guy?

very interesting discussion. I am not really in favor of this. I think the small communities are going to lose some of what made them great (the small town services). just thinking, why don't we close every store in every town and just open a
Walmart supercenter? Is this how we want our communities to function. Remember the beat cop? he knew all the local kids and there parents. Why does CT not have county govt? Who is correct?
When a resident with some clout calls up at 1 am does not get a local officer then we will see what happens. I just think some of these small villages and towns residents want local cops to handle everything. This is not an issue about efficiency this is just a dollar issue as of now, it is to save 200K that's it.

Not sure Bro. However, the volunteer ranks of many southern Westchester departments have been dwindling/suffering and in some cases, extinct for decades. I think a major part of the reason for that has been the demographic change in southern Westchester, as more and more of the white collar professional class from NYC emigrated out into south West. due to it's extremely convenient commuting location via Metro North into GCT. This drove housing prices skyward and forced most of the demographic (working class/blue collar) who possibly would have volunteered to move further outward, away from south West.
Southern Westchester's loss of those particular people became a gain for FDs further north in the county.
Long complicated answer to a simple question. Maybe I should have stopped at "Not sure Bro." lol
