  1. I think he is gearing that post more towards a building that is already on fire and he needs to get help really quick
  2. As many lkights asa you may have, the cars on the road are still being driven by idiots and they never move for ya!!! LCFD is right...money for lights would be better spent on training and equipment
  3. Sometimes it may not be right for the area they're in. If it's loud sound is bouncing off the buildings, people may get used to not pulling over bc they never see a fire engine bc its a few streets over. Im all for the Q tho. Sounds great, looks good, and it makes the apparatus LOL
  4. In my town the Police are the dispatchers are the police department... Tho some do a good job, others are horrible. I was just commenting on some dispatchers being a bunch of morons and not sending EMS to calls when they could have and they should have.
  5. From a CFR stand point great idea to get the ball rollin if you have guys in quarters and someone needs immediate assistance. But what if you have EMT's on the rig who don't wanna ride, then what? Someone aint gonna be happy
  6. No Matter what the alarm is you should always be geared up ready to go. Minutes are wasted when those who pull up on a job are not geared up thinking it was gonna be nothing. It's looks a lot more professional and more importantly it's for your own safety!!! Always expect the worst but hope for the best
  7. No thing is better than calling for an ambulance only to have a police car show up and try to talk you out of it!
  8. IF YOU NEED TO COMPLAIN THAT YOU CAN'T DRINK WHILE AT THE FIREHOUSE....GO AWAY CAUSE YOU AIN'T HELPING US ANY!
  9. Quick Question... You roll an engine out the door to help the mutual aid bus. You say you should have medically trained personnel on the engine...BUT, when the people requesting EMS ask why there's an EMT on the fire truck and why cant the guy driving a fire truck drive an ambulance...whats the answer gonna be?
  10. I think he means... God forbid something good happens
  11. LCFD... You think that's bad Croton FD and EMS dispatched to Rt. 9 North of Senasqua for an MVA... Police advise they are on scene with a minor accident. HAHAHAHAHA I was the first one to pull up... NOT MINOR!!! Five cop cars there just standing there trying to get information... WELL, the vehicle had rolled multiple times, both occupants had been ejected with one possibly missing. One p/t had an open fracture to his arm and other working traumas. The other one had a broken kneck and was air lifted to WMC. Always send the FD and EMS at the least, cause u never know!!!
  12. Ahhh Camping!!! My friends and I have been talking about a camping trip for a long time now. We just havn't figured out where we're going yet... Please enlighten me on some good spots
  13. There commercials make me not want to buy their ring tones!!!!!!!!!! eeerrrrrrrrrr!!!
  14. ooo oooo oooo.... I know LOL
  15. Good Example: My Dept. got dispatched to a local nursing home for an activated fire alarm. Half way there the police started telling units to return and they said it was a false alarm. Luckily we continued in to make sure it was a false alarm...to our surprise when we arrived we were met by an employee holding a fire extinguisher reporting to us they had just extinguished a fire on the 5th floor. To say nothing about the fact that they tried cancelling us from responding to a high occupancy building!!! SO MUCH FOR A FALSE ALRM!!! ](*,) (and that came from a police dept... Jus think about what a homeowner in an upscale house would say)
  16. Lucky for us that if you ever need a stick real quick, O-Town has 2 of em!
  17. Nice Shamrocks in front of doors of some Croton Chiefs some years ago! LOL
  18. The hell with remaining in operation.... That's ludicrous!!!!!!!!!! No person 16 years old is mature enough with enough driving experience to drive an emergency vehicle, let alone for mostly night calls. These guys are out of their gord!!!!!!!!!! Sad to say they're setting themselves up for disaster. All it takes is another driver on the road to make a stupid move on the road and the 16 year old freezing up and wrecking it!!! CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
  19. Ossining have a rig they converted from an ambulance as well. Not sure the complete uses for it tho Peekskill PD turned the VAC's into some Emergency response vehicle as said above too. It said OEM on it so i guess its some kinda command vehicle
  20. Damn Straight they do. 5000 runs with their kinda manpower...hell of a job
