Spike, 46.06 is no longer used by New Rochelle. They have moved all talking after initial dispatch (which is on 33.96) to their new UHF frequency. The only department in the southern part of the county on 46.06 now is Pelham. We only use 46.06 for communications with 60 control. While operating at a scene, we use County Fireground 3.

Is there a specific reason for this? Or has it just continued from the old days and become "tradition"?

This Thursday, June 29th. I believe kick off is 7:30pm but it might be 7pm.

We have them on a few streets down here. One street is a joke, they are very low and really serve no purpose. The other two streets have higher ones which require the driver to almost stop completely. Having gone over them in a rig (and the driver not knowing they existed) I would say that they are a major inconvenience.

Are they looking to get away from the tillers altogether? If so what are the reasons? Will the Tower ladder become a "Second due" or spare rig?

Filming wrapped up at around 845 friday night. From talking to some of the crew members, they were filming a lot of small transitional shots. PFD was requested at around 645 pm to help soak the platform.

When you use a blue light to respond to a call, you still have to obey ALL traffic laws. You are not granted the exceptions given to the apparatus. Therefore, it should take you the same amount of time to respond with a blue light as it would if you didnt have a blue light.

As an ice hockey official that has worked the empire state games several times, I can honestly say that the State takes care of the logistical stuff. Most of the staff for the games is Volunteer and I believe this includes most, if not all, of the doctors, nurses, emts, paramedics, etc. They do one hell of a job organizing everything and even having several back up plans. The Games are a really great event and i encourage many of you, if you are around that week, to get involved in some fashion.

Was up there today checking it out. Man what a nice rig it is. Lettering and Stripes should be going on early next week. Also, when i get to them, ill be putting up a few more pictures.

After reading the two posts about the large brush fires in both Brooklyn and Queens, I got to thinking. First, I find it absolutely awesome that they called in the VFDs for their brush trucks. Second, does the FDNY have brush trucks stationed in parts of the city for this purpose? Or do they feel that it would be a duplication of services since the VFDs have them?

Anyone know when "Radio Bulletin 3" is going to come out? There were supposed to be four of them about this system and its been a long time since the second one came out.
