  1. yes, the uncle shot the guy. tommy and his father got caught up in the crowd that rushed the scene and were able to leave without anyone noticing.
  2. I had first period free during my senior year of high school. Due to the major lack of parking, i had arrived early and was sitting in the "common area". The Audio/Visual room was right next to me and i saw the A/V teacher go running out. Not 30 seconds later, he along with the principals and vice principals of the High and Middle school went back into the room. Once they left i walked in and watched the second plane hit. that was all i needed to see. I spent the rest of the day wandering around school. I didnt go to any of my classes and sporatically went and watched the coverage on tv.
  3. Just a note: those 6 were from the old list, NOT from the test that was given in June (that Agility test is in Oct). Congrats to the new FDMV 6
  4. hey 901, how many times have you pulled that one off? Have you started charging flat rates? How about a fuel surcharge these days?
  5. All, we were approached by a few people who wished to donate toys and clothing to our cause here in Pelham. Since we are not accepting those items, we offered to see who out there might be in need of them. So: If anyone knows of organizations accepting donations of these items, please post. They could be either relief organizations or other organizations for fire victims, etc. We dont want their efforts to be for nothing, so if you have any ideas, please advise. Shantz02 Pelham
  6. brgold, Looks like the FDNY felt right at home doing what they love wherever needed. Chris, sorry but no camera. Lets just say the trip "wasnt camera worthy". Plus, it woulda been tough to take pics while driving.
  7. Was down in Delaware this weekend driving I95 a few times. I happened to be going north on two seperate occasions and passed a massive convoy of NYC Transit busses (at least 50 of them) led and broken up by numerous NYPD cruisers. The second time, there were at least 50 NYPD vehicles, ranging from ESU units to cruisers as well as several more busses. It was quite a sight to see them all heading south in a fully lit convoy.
  8. All, my dept down here in Pelham was trying to organize a truck or two to send down with water and other supplies. Westchester DES advised NOT to go down on our own. Instead, they (and FEMA) would like the Depts to call them and be put on the list so that if FEMA asks for assistance, DES knows who is available and how many people they have. I suggest that others spread the word through their respective depts and get in touch with West. DES/ 60 Control. The more help we can provide, the better it will be for everyone. Also, if anyone has other ideas, please post. I am aware of all the charities and donation accepting organizations. Im looking mroe for non-monetary aid ideas. Thanks
  9. Did he go away for this special occasion? I havent heard him in a few days. Happy Birthday Hap!!!
  10. CAM, which call would that be? HAHA. I thought you sounded a little sleepish on the radio. Jackpot is good if you like the different flavors. The wings also have a nice little crunch to them (not over done, but not too soft and chewy). Theres a place down in Delaware near U of D that has some amazingly hot wings. Unfortunately i dont remember the name and my buddy isnt online to tell me. Ill update when i figure it out.
  11. Dr, station 10 is landmarked so you dont have to worry bout it being knocked down.
  12. I thought if you covered more than one municipality then you had to be a fire district? If true, then since Port Chester covers Rye Brook as well as Port Chester 24/7, wouldnt they have to be a Fire District and not a Village Fire Dept.?
  13. You can get them down here in Pelham. You have to go to the firehouse though and ask for them. There used to be one on my window when i was younger, along with the windows in my brothers' rooms. Side note: I heard that most depts dont suggest them for use in first floor windows due to the dead giveaway to perps that might be out to kidnap a child.
  14. Ajsbear, you are probably right. I think i heard that somewhere along the line. I was going with what i had in the book from 1922. YonkersR3- personally, i think anyone who has the room SHOULD build a house that has a rear entrance to the bays. If i remember correctly, Katonah's HQs is the same way (not sure if they have 4 or 5 bays though). At its present location, I dont think Yonkers has the room to do that though. Plus, if they are gonna house spare rigs in it as well, then the front line apparatus would be up front with spares behind them. Now if they want to move everything each time they get back to quarters, then sure put access doors in the rear of the building. I personally think its just as easy to back a rig into the bays. As for how many bays they should put in the new HQ, that depends on what they are going to house there. Obviously each front line first due apparatus should have its own bay, so if they house 4 front line trucks, then have 4 bays, etc. As is usually said, what works for one might not work for another. I am a firm believer that it works here as well.
  15. Mr. Bravo, I realize that the 'Mark this board as Read' option is there however i liked the old 'Mark All topics as Read' option we had on the other board. It allowed users to more easily determine what topics had new posts the next time they went to that board. By only 'marking the board as read', all the topics that you have not specifically clicked on and read appear as new the next time you sign on. Would it be possible to either replace the "Mark this board as read" option or add the "Mark all topics as read" option? I am sure there are +/- to each, i was just wondering what you thought.
  16. I drove by Station 3 today and there were guys out in the back learning the controls. They had the bucket in the air and were turning it from side to side. That is one awesome looking rig.

  18. Corrected and better than ever. Thanks Seth, great job!!!
  19. That was exactly what was happening to me. It didnt happen in IE, only Mozilla.
  20. The old board had a spot to click which read "mark all posts as read" . will there be a similar button on the new board, or just the "mark this forum as read" . when you click that, the topics in the forum that you didnt read remain highlighted.
  21. Got to get used to it. Also, theres no "Log out" as far as i can find. I think it is definitely needed.
  22. I sent mine in. A good friend of mine is one and he loves it. Says its a great job.
  23. I mailed Pelham's on friday, should be there soon.
  24. Yonkers, I spoke to a buddy of mine the other day. He said the foam rig is still yellow in color. Its currently down behind station 2 on fulton.
  25. YR3, not a problem. Ive got very little to do these days other than sit around with my broken leg. So this little hunt will be a welcome break from the usual routine. Now if only i could get CAM to let me know when to expect the Foam rig. Then id really be happy. What kind of renovations are they doing to it anyway?
