It is with regret that the Office of Fire Prevention and Control announces the death of EMT driver Edward P. Mueller, age 50, of the West Islip Fire Department Rescue Company, on February 2, 2008.

Driver Mueller was stricken after responding to a car fire on February 1, 2008.

A wake will be held on Thursday, February 7, and Friday, February 8, at 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Chapey & Sons Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Highway, West Islip, NY 11795, (631) 661-5644. Fire Department services will be held on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, at Glory Dei Church, 22 East 18th Street (Luther Place) in Huntington Station, NY (631) 271-2466.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Driver Mueller and to members of the West Islip Fire Department.
