Mike

Station 10 was built in 1909. Station 6 is 7 years older as it was built in 1902.

No Truck Co. repsonds out of Sta.#7?

Nope, just an engine company and I think they pull double duty as a Haz-Mat support company as well. Right guys???

How about the old (and unfortunately abandoned) house on Vineyard Avenue? Are there any other defunct stations in the City?

Nobody has posted station 12 on Fortfield Avenue yet either...

Truck Co. 5 was commissioned at Station 7 in 1932 and moved to Station 12 in 1961.

Besides E307, (which is a LDH unit and a Haz-Mat Support Unit), the Fire Investigation Unit is quartered at Station 7.

And the left half of the building is the YPD Second Precinct.

It's sad to see old Station 2 on Vineyard Ave abandoned. My grandfather worked there. You can also see old Station 8. It's two buildings to the north of the present Station 8. My dad worked as a lieutenant there.

Unless someone has a handy pic of Station 12 I'll have to get one tomorrow lol.

Negative on both.

In the seven fire response areas which make up E307's first due area the first and second due trucks are: 73,75; 73,74; 74,73; 73,75; 75,73; 73,75; 75,73.

Batt2, what's the 1st due Truck's avg. response times to 307's area in the AM vs PM time frames. I would think it seems like an eternity for 307's members on the hoseline at a job at 3:00 AM for some Truck support to arrive, especially if the 1st due Truck Co., whose already responding from more then a couple of blocks away, is out on a minor. No? Does Squad11 also run into this same problem at times? I would think the same holds true for Ladder 71, waiting for a hoseline to be stretched and charged at a job they arrive 1st to, especially if 306 or 303 is o.o.s. on a minor. Is this sometimes the case? Just wondering.

All single engine houses have that worry. We always anxiously awaited TL71's arrival on Nodine Hill. It sure would be nice to have another ladder company there or elsewhere in the city but I wouldn't move any existing ones to Sta 7.

It's been requested in the budget by the Commissioner, Chris. We haven't heard anything solid yet.
