Has Dutchess County fire activity been higher than usual lately?

46 posts in this topic

Rhinebeck and Hughsonville both had large brush fires today. Per Hughsonville Cmd, over 4 acres involved.

Thats to be expected this time of year..it'll get worse for about 2 months, green up will coem and we will be OK...

Is it just me.......or has there been an extraordinary amount of fire duty in Dutchess this year?

As we speak - Roosevelt is going out for a trailer fire that the police can see from a distance!

1 to 2 working fires a day is the norm....and they are spread out throughout the county...no one area getting hit hard.

Kudos to all of the departments, Battalion Coodinators, and especially the Dispatchers....some of who worked multiple, multiple alarm fires at the same time...

Is the stage set to see the "War Years" again? :P

Nothing compared to Coatsville PA 22 fires since Jan 1 (Arson) not sure how many accidental ones

Yup, another 2nd Alarmer. I looked it up on http://maps.live.com. Is it right next to their firehouse?

Yes, they don't even have to start the trucks. Just put them in neutral and a little push and they are there. LOLOLOL

Dutchess Junction car 2 was at Glenham watching the race when someone ran over banging on the window and they looked out and said they had work.

Overall a great stop for Glenham (They have the best response time for any volunteer FD in Dutchess) and being across the street from the fire helps. They did have one very well done pizza pie sitting in the flower pot out front.
