New Firematic Hudson Valley Apparatus Service Center

21 posts in this topic

I would like to let everyone in the lower hudson valley fire service know that Firematic will be opening our new Apparatus Service and Refrurb Center at 3 Day Road in Carmel NY on June 1st. We are busy constructing the offices inside the already completed building. This is Firematic 3rd complete service center joining our Long Island - 10 Ramsay Road and Connecticut - 651 Brook Street facilities to offer complete fire apparatus repair and refurb services. Although our facility will be primarily dedicated to Pierce Sales and Service, our service techs are certified in Waterous, Hale, Darley, Meritor, Foam Pro, Wilburt, Harrison, On Spot, Elkhart, Akron, Red Dot, Wabco, Detroit, and Allison and as such can fix anything that calls itself a fire truck! We are very excited about this expansion into the lower hudson valley and intend on offering the best customer service possible. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I have attached a few pictures to the end of the post that show our new facility.

You are exactly right. We are behind the bowling alley and Comcast off Old Rt 6. I am working on getting a nice 12' lighted sign that everyone will be able to see from RT 6.

Are they looking for any Part Time workers from people that know about a little about Fire Equipment?

Thanks Mark, I really appreciate it. Having your BRAT unit here for the open house would be great! Give me a call when you get a chance.

I heard the buss around town about the building and the business. When are you opening? Mike, Do you have family that came from Carmel? I remember years ago when my father was alive that he had a buddy that he went to high school with that moved to Long Island and got into the apparatus business. And they need to moved this thread to the Putnam section.

You are right they do need to move this into the Putnam County Section! Thanks for the response. We are trying to open on or about June 1st. They are installing the HVAC ducting as I type and the electricians are nearly complete, so things are progressing, but as anyone whosever built anything knows...It takes 4eva! My dad and grandfather built a house in Carmel in the mid to late 50's on Brayton road, so we do have some long ago ties to the community. Stop bye anytime!

Thanks,

Mike Hanratty

Hey Mike,

Talk about a small world. my Father and Grandfather built a house on Brayton Rd. in the early 50's and moved here from the Bronx. I took a drive by the shop this weekend. I will stop by during the week. I look forward to meeting you.

See you soon, Robbie Shannon

Hi Folks. Just figured I'd update everyone on the progress on our new service center. The insulation is finaly going in and the sheetrockers are here to start closing up the walls. Once that is complete we can paint, move the equipment in and finally get to work! Right now I am targeting June 20th as our unofficial opening day.

Great news for the lower Hudson Valley Fire Service, Firematic's new apparatus repair and maintenance facility is finally operational! We are still working on finishing the construction of the offices, pump test pit and a few other amenities, but the shop is open and up and running. The pic's attached show Somers Rescue BRAT getting the pump repaired and MT Kisco Independent's Engine 105 getting the side discharge's replumbed. Thank you very much to both Somers and Mt Kisco for being the 1st two (2) departments to utilize our new shop!
