It blends with the vehicle color during the day, but when illuminated, its is highly visible. Some PD's use it to blend patrol vehicles with normal cars, kind of an unmarked marked car. Otherwise it keeps the vehicle with an understated look.

X129k, LOL!!

Gotta agree with Dan..very nice looking truck (im a big fan of the Tahoes). Its somewhat simple, yet very classy with the goldleaf.

Side question to NHFD...Chief, i havent been in "your neck of the woods" in awhile now. How old is your firehouse? I know i have never seen it, but looks real nice and relatively new.

So with the Command Vehicle label this is not assigned to a fire chief?

Keeps the vehicle safe when it is operating in areas by cemetaries.

This will more than likely go down as one of the funniest and best posts of the year !!! Very Very Good !!!

Just going by the window decals, that would be the Chief of Department's vehicle. 21-1-1.

But that's just my observation from the picture.

The term "Command Vehicle" is used as a blanket term to describe most Chief's cars, as most have the equipped with Command Centers in the rear.

So when 3 chiefs cars are on the scene, how would one know which is command?

The one yelling the loudest.

Three chief's cars? How about when there are 10-12. Primary department, mutual aid, coordinators, etc.

This doesn't even take into account all the ex-chiefs, deputy chiefs, and others with vehicles.
