NJ at Long Beach Medical Center. Through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, New York State requested elements of the NJ EMS Task Force / Hackensack University Medical Center's Mobile Satellite Emergency Department to assist with a

long-term recovery operation in Long Beach, New York (Nassau County). This mission objective is to provide temporary, limited

emergency department services to Long Beach Medical Center,which was severely compromised as a result of Superstorm Sandy. The current mission length is 14 days, possibly as long as 6 months. This deployment request consists of one (1) Mobile ED - a 43' trailer with expandable sides and one (1) Mobile OR to be used as additional Treatment space. The Mobile ED is equipped to function as an emergency trauma department with Cardiac Monitoring, Defibrillation, Ultrasound, IV Pumps, Ventilators, Suction, Oxygen, high flow infusion, X-Ray, Lab, pacing, Cardioversion, suturing, formulary, medical supplies and carries a supply of

potable water, contains a grey water tank and has an onboard generator capable of 72 hrs operation on one tank of diesel fuel.

The Mobile OR will be used as additional ED Treatment Space. MSED also includes logistical support. In addition, several EMSTF and MSED support vehicles/trailers and personnel will be on site providing the necessary infrastructure to maintain the operation.
