The green Mack is identical to the one the Peekskill Fire Patrol once had called the "Green Hornet" and was once owned by FHHA member Waine Kniffen of Valhalla, NY who showed it at many FHHA musters at Kensico Dam, could it be?

Does anyone know how the green Mack's operated when they were in service, vs. today's ESU?

More or less like a manpower sq and or riot sq. It could bring manpower to a location fast as there where a few around the city. As the story goes from the Man that owned that rig it was bought [used] by the Peekskill Fire Patrol as there first rig I believe It was replaced by the large 1950's GMC Approved body and the Mack was left outside to rot. Then somewhere around 1976 or so a new friend Waine from Valhalla started a complete resto on it . He compleated it around 1980 the same time I finshed up my Sanford and we showed them together at the shows. Many times he was asked to bring the Mack back to the city for shows as it was the only one left so it has to be it. Over the years lost touch with Waine and I believe he has pasted on . Maybe Howie can fill us /me in on anything else about this great rig that has Westchester ties !
