Hey guys,

I want to know when you are working as an EMT/Paramedic what do you bring with you on your person. Be creative and specific and recommend things you think work well in the realm of EMS.

All of that stuff, like firefighting, how often do you use said items? Seems like itll weigh you down....

Scissors, pen/pad, amr pager (yes we still use em), phone charger and headphones and in 2 months add in narcotic keys hopefully.

Right back pocket: Wallet

Left back pocket: Car keys

Left front pocket: A couple of crinkled up dollar bills

Right front pocket: iPhone

Radio strap and radio over right shoulder

My point here is that the equipment was kept in our bags.

Other than pen lights x2 (one in left thigh pocket, one in right thigh pocket), an O2 key (left thigh) and trauma sheers (left thigh) I carry about 20 pairs of gloves and 4 pens.

Hopefully I have remembered my wallet, cell phone, keys and pager.

Agree to the minimalist approach. Gloves. Map of town. Pen. Phone. Sometimes my knife. Nothing on my belt.

We have bags for our stuff.

All you folks with the loaded belts...how long you been doing this? Heard once that the amount of stuff on ones's belt was inversely proportional to the amount of experience one has.

On my leather pants belt i have my radio in a motorola leather holster and a key ring (for narcs and truck keys) and the narcs themselves. Naturally, i keep my ID wallet w/ credentials, my regular wallet in my back pockets. Sheers, note pad and gloves in my hip pocket. Thats about it - less is more if you ask me.

On duty belt: Radio, Pager, Ass-kicking gloves, o2 wrench, trauma shears, glove pouch, surefire light, pens, knife/window punch/seat belt cutter.

Pockets: cell phone, keys, wallet, spo2 finger sensor, paper pad, ears, aux cable for listening to podcasts on non-emergency drives to Greenwich/WMC.

Tend to use my ankle cargo pockets as trash cans so various amounts of wrappers, old gloves etc.

Just be Happy I am wearing Pants for this Call! No Less something in my pockets, The only extra thing I carry is my own scope with a pouch that holds small spo2 and 2 pairs of gloves. Other then that I work out of my bag, I even go as far as refusing to work out of my cabinets unless I really need it. Now if you will excuse me I need to go back and Earn Money Sleeping! -_-

Shears, Gloves, Scope. Meh kind of the scope 9 out of 10 times it's in my tech bag not on my person.

Debating on a flashlight, don't feel like spending the money though.
