  1. Our 62 MACK was actually copied from a long island rig and yes it had seats, 4 cushioned seats that opened up to pack hose. When we were writing specs for our 84 MACK we could not call them seats we had to call them doors, if they were "seats" we would have had tohave seat belts. We actually had a door installed on the rear of the walkway to make use of the space under the walkway.

  2. I had many mentors through the years, too many to mention individually. Therefore I will just lump them together in a group I shall call all the senior firefirghters in my department and some of my neighboring departments. Now that I am a "senior member" I sincerely hope that I am having an influence on some of our younger members and setting a good example for them!

  3. 16fire5 yes that was a major failure, it was dec 4th 1971 the rig got delivered earlier that year, was operating at a 3 story apt building when it failed. There was 1 firefighter on the stick who rode the ladder down, luckily it twisted away from the fire instead of just falling straight into the fire otherwise we would have had an LODD. Of course being that Croton is suck a thriving metropolis rumors abounded that the FF died. For several months we had the only 25' stick. Cause went back and forth between the mfr and the village with no blame found on either parties part.
