When (not if) the rig is involved in a crash, I want a solid bumper infront. Their is no way that this bumper is atttached to the frame structure so that its crash worthy.
Also willing to bet, that a very minor tap or even a minor contact with the ground (as when pulling into a steep driveway) will fold this bumper right up into the front of the rig.
And if you need to tow it or pull it out you better not secure to it.

It finally made it back home a few weeks ago and was used to carry Brother Gustave Deister to his final resting place last week, she's a bit rough looking at this point but should be looking pretty sharp this summer, As soon as I can get up and get some more shots of some of the details of "Old Bets" I will.

Millerton Fire under the direction of Chief Jason Watson responded to a cattle truck into a silo hopper and building off Route 22 just North of the Webutuck High School. The truck hauling cows to the fair went off the road and traveled several hundred feet through two fields before going down an embankment and striking and going under a dust silo entraping the driver. I arrived several minutes into the operation and have no patient update or cause of the accident

To all who may be venturing up to scenic Schoharie County...
Be advised that the county was devastated by Hurricane Irene and again during the past 24 hours. The county's ICP was evacuated yesterday when the fairgrounds flooded again. Plan on austere conditons and MRE's depending on where you're assigned. Some of the FD's and local residents are feeding crews but it depends on where you are. Bring sleeping bags and cots if you have them.
For the tanker task forces, you may be standing by as fire suppression relief for affected departments. One of the biggest complaints we heard last week was that these crews "didn't do anything". While it may have seemed that way to the out of town resources, they provided much needed relief to the local crews who are also victims and in some cases lost everything.
Heed the inundation sirens too. If you hear them it means flooding is imminent and evacuation is necessary. The water rose six feet in less than 20 minutes so it is no joke.
    Be safe and stay dry!

I have a 2011 Kawi Brute Force, looking to ride on the weekends so if you're in Dutchess and have some places to ride hit me up, I would love to get it out on the trails and use it for something other than plowing.

We stripped all struts, air bags, and cribbing from the rescues of Millerton, Amenia, Wassaic, and Stanford. We had Millbrook en route but realized we were in a good point before they arrived.
Pallets were a small part of the cribbing at first due to the lack of anything else. They did wind up playing a small roll however.
