Rescue 3
Members of R3 and the squads used a grip hoist to remove the SUV from the hood of the pick up. Engine 45's front bumper and a steel post near the building were used as anchors

A general overview of the scene after the SUV was placed on the ground. This also gives a rough idea of the height involved

sfrd18 liked a post in a topic by x635 in 1/64 Code 3 FDNY Ladder 46 Seagrave Aerialscope M II Diecast
Code 3 has released FDNY Ladder 46, operates a new 2010 Seagrave Marauder II/Aerialscope II 75'. There are 4,000 made, with the price being $89.00 for non Code 3 club members, and $79.00 for club members.
I don't know, from the photo and maybe it's just the photo, the detailing seems..well, quite plain and generic, compared to what Code 3 had been getting better at a few years ago, but this seems like they jacked the price (a lot) and lowered the quality.
I would still want to purchase it, but at $90.00 and 4,000 made.....I think I may wait it out a bit.
Take a look for yourself:

And, for reference, this is the actual apparatus:

Nope, just a removable storage box for future needs. Similar to the FDNY Squads.
They do swivel out.
They are called I-Zone Hooks (interface zone hooks). They were a west coast design used when you have a couple hundreed feet of attack hose out and need to move the rig a couple 100 yards to hit the next fire or protect the next exposure and you do not want to repack the hose, you van just throw a few loops over the hooks (like your garden hose) and go. We thought it was a good idea when on I-95, it would be faster to get off the road and repack it in a safer loacation. Also good in bad weather or if the hose was muddy and we didn't want it in the bed.
A number of different variations are out there:

A couple of months ago I happened to drive by this house and was unable to snap some pic's. This week I finally got them, so here they are.
The quarters of FDNY Ladder 47.
The quarters of FDNY Engine 64.
And their relation to each other.
They are located on Castle Hill Avenue, Bronx.
This firehouse was mentioned previously in this FDNY E45/L58 Firehouse thread.
Here are a couple more pics with some more detail.
Some additional detail of the L47 house.
Some additional detail of the E64 house.

sfrd18 liked a post in a topic by PEMO3 in Vehicle Fire With a Twist
With the mind set of today, responders need to be cognizant of so called soft-targets with strip malls and placed of public assembly fitting the bill. People think of terrorist targets as midtown Manhattan or mass transit and not downtown Anytown, USA. This allows for the guard to be let down just enough for the unspeakable. The fact that this is an unmarked box truck with no driver to be found should raise a "red flag" to responders to use added caution approaching the vehicle as it may not be as simple a vehicle fire. A quick question of the store owner with the hose if he was expecting a delivery may increase that "red flag" issue if the response is a no. A proactive, cautionary, and defensive approach can mean the difference between going home in the rig or a bag.
