You'd be surprised. A lot of people document unboxings via photos. It's not all that unusual. How is this person trying to plot an elaborate scheme to get a free camera when he had paid for it already? That doesn't make much sense.
Also, there is apparently going to be a follow up story coming. The original publisher posted in the comments section in reply to someone who was just as skeptical as you. It hasn't gone live yet due to the person still waiting on an official reply from Dell management. I'm going to keep monitoring the site and when the story does go up, I'll post the follow up in here. It will be up at F Stop Lounge.

I don't disagree with you there, it's certainly a valid point you make. The author of the story was skeptical as well and did some digging and the more she digs the more this person's story checks out. The site refuses to issue a full refund. The most they're willing to give is a $100 coupon, which they claim is the largest they've ever given out.
Now that said, there's a reason why I posted this story in the "You can't make this stuff up" category. It just sounds too good to be true, lol

Dont forget Rescue Squad, Rescue Company, Special Rescue,
Thanks for reminding me about the other terms, I too love the shake n' bake one from "Backdraft".
But most of the officers in my area will just stand in the front yard scratching their heads and say "Golly, that thar house is a fiar!! (spit) reckon we need more water and stuff and get me nother can o' skoal too!!"
Sorry...Im from long island originally and couldnt help the joke...you can take the person from the city but you cant take the city from the person...peace out.

Dell sucks. I also had a problem with them after they sent me a lemon computer. I made multiple calls to them, each one more futile. Every time I called, I had to start over from square one. Completly frusterated with Dell and no longer wanting to spend hours on the phone with them, I eventually had to get the computer repaired out of my own pocket to keep my sanity. Then I started having problems with my laptop. Again, same deal. I completly sympathize with this guy.
Given that I lived in the hometown of Dell, I know many of their employees hate them just as much. It's sad that Dell has such a grip on the computer market. And they know it and I feel that's why the average customer is not important to them. With discontent with Dell increasing, I see repeat customers going with another vendor and Dell losing marketshare.
I'm a happy Lenovo customer now. Never again will I buy anything from Dell.

The symbolism of the bill is huge. NY is the first state to vote on such a ban regarding assault weapons. Additionally the law extends Kendra's law until 2017 which is crucial in helping the mentally ill. If gun owners are so responsible they shouldn't have any problems with registering an assault weapon. Yes, criminals will still do the crime, but people from all respected political parties are saying we need to act to prevent senseless violence. This is that first step in acting. Do I agree with every earmark in the bill, no, but it seems like an excellent starting point as I said. I don't see any other politicians stepping up to the plate to take on this issue, especially Mr. Ball, but yes we MUST fix our mental health system, much more than just extending Kendra's law. But, I think its crazy that someone could simply buy an assault weapon online before this bill passed. But really, most of this stuff is common sense, and I'm very proud that NY stood up to the plate first to take on this issue.

    It seems like they
And I stand by my view that the current building is obsolete, and Westchester County is wasting money on numerous renovations over the years just to cram 10 pounds in a 1 pound sack. They should raze it, and build a modern, proper DES facility. At the very least, the 60 Control dispatchers need a modern, spacious communications center.

A good amount of the problem lies on driver stupidity but at the same time part of it lies on the state for not doing more to prevent this (not sure what they can do to curb this) and part lies on the trucking companies. All too often these companies are supplying their drivers with residential type gps devices instead of commercial, if at all.

Instead of chains put a huge I beam reinforced with concrete across the road 2-300 feet before the bridge it's alot easier to clean up when it's hit and I gaurantee it knocks the GPS off the windshield and common sense into the driver

  20. peterose313 liked a post in a topic by x635 in Commercial Vehicles On Westchester County Parkways
I commute on the Taconic/Saw Mill/Sprain parkways several times a week. Lately, I've been seeing numerous commercial vehicles on the parkway, and in the past 2 weeks, I've even seen 2 tractor trailers on the Saw Mill in Irvington....County PD was on it and stopped the trucks before they could do any damage. Besides the tractor trailer, did anything else change in the past 4 years that allows smaller commercial vehicles on the parkway?
One of the common factors I'm seeing is GPS, which I'm convinced some people would drive into the Hudson River if the GPS told them to.....they are so focused on the GPS they don't pay attention to anything else.
I really think there needs to be some more effective signage at each entrance to the parkways. Some don't even have any signage.

It was a total of three officers shot tonight. One off-duty MOS in the Bronx who attempted to break up a robbery of a car dealership on Boston Road, near Adee Avenue. http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local/new_york&id=8941265 . One perpetrator in custody at the scene, and two additional arrested later on.
Shortly there after 2 on duty MOS working in plainclothes anti-crime, were shot in Brooklyn at the Fort Hamilton subway station, on the N line.
http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local/new_york&id=8941340 . Perpetrator was shot dead by one officer.
Hopefully all will make full recoveries, and be back to work when they are ready. For those that are not familiar with the term "plainclothes', it means just that, a police officer, on duty wearing regular clothes during the coarse of their tour. They are expected to be wearing their bullet resistant vest, and carry their gun in holster,a spare magazine, asp (extendable baton), pepper spray, at least one set of handcuffs, radio, some basic summons and paperwork, and keep it all concealed to better blend in to enforce what ever crime condition they are tasked to address. Tonight's incident in Brooklyn started with a person walking between subway cars. The Transit Authority banned this about 6 years ago, and the PD enforces it, as a lot of robbery and pickpocket perps have been found to walk thru trains in search of their victims. I did this for 5 years, and it can get hairy at times. Some of the perps know who you are, and will fight anyway, and then cry to the District Attorneys Office that they did know, or the officer did not identify themselves. Others truly did not know who the police were. On the police side, you only means of identification is your shield and ID card, along with the 'color of the day' which changes everyday, and is announced at every roll call. In the field it is just a colored armband/headband. When you get involved in something you are hoping that the responding uniformed officers either recognize you, or the color of the day. Your radio is often turned down low to avoid being heard, and if there is radio traffic you may not hear it as you are requesting help, and hopefully not being blocked by the other transmissions. That and your reaction times to getting equipment out can be slowed by the clothing you are wearing, such as large coats worn during this time of year.

They have it posted on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/PointBreezeVFD?ref=ts&fref=ts
Also there may be some confusion about the name of their department, it is in fact the Point Breeze fire Department is their proper name and they are located in Breezey Point, Queens.
