  3. Uh,guys take the rest of the week off. That tee you ordered is gonna be a little late.
  4. http://jalopnik.com/5428800/ham-radio-car-sale-photos/gallery/1 All right dan,you can have my light ,BUT NOT MY RADIOS!
  5. YFD unions proposed this last year to the city and they declined. In essence you are borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. The deferral would be put off till the member retires with a lump payment (prorated) upon retirement. It would be an unknown obligation to be payed later.
  6. "I'd be honored to be associated with a Local that stood by ALL it's members " judging by the word "ALL",who are you comparing to?
  7. Thanks for the response,Lets hope 2010 brings better times.
  8. Doesn't make much sense. Were you able to restore the open spots as well, or is that situation going to remain unchanged. It gets scary whenever open positions match company manning, makes it too easy to cut company out.
  9. Just curious, was there any threat to the NRPD during this "crisis"?Congrats to the Brothers from NR for sticking by their own.
  10. For Co-op / train areas ,a few that come to mind are; Northwest Yo on Warburton Ave is walking distance to the Greystone Train Sta,(Hudson line),East Yonkers in the Pondfield rd/Palmer Rd area with walking distance to Bronxville Train Sta.,and Bronx River Road area close to the Mt Vernon Train.I'd mention the Morris Crescent area by the Ludlow Sta but that area comes with a distinct smell.(Westchester sewage treatment plant).Good Luck
  11. It would put to question the current power of the consent decree.
  12. http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2009/04...67236435286.txt ruling expected by June as for the last poster,,,,,like you said in your last post,,personal decision, but rolling over wouldn't be my choice, they'll just keep kicking you.
  13. Yeah,I think if you give up a year of your life studying,(the guys that have studied know what I am talking about),only to be told that because another "group" didn't fare as well , that the results would be thrown out and you get to do it all over again, then hell yeah its worth fighting for.Good Luck to the brothers from NH.

  15. Just for the record,"In the eyes of the public, a firefighter is a firefighter irreguardless of what function that person serves at the fire station or on the scene." is gamewell's post.
  16. "In the eyes of the public, a firefighter is a firefighter irreguardless of what function that person serves at the fire station or on the scene." Because they don't know the difference.
  17. Maybe its me ,but I read the thread as a question that asks what is needed to be considered a "legal" firefighter, not what evryone's opinion of one should be.In other words,if Department X has 15 exterior members and 12 interior firefighters, does that department advertise to the public that it has 27 firefighters available should their services be needed?Again maybe its me.
  18. I have my own name which rhymes with citfield,I gotta say i wasn't that impressed.Alot of kinks have to be ironed out.5 flights of stairs to the uppers and poor concession stands for the uppers give new meaning to "you get what you pay for".I think in the future I won't even bother going upstairs and I'll just pull up a bar table overlooking from the concourse in center field. It will suck for all the people who bought 50.00 seats to share concession lines with those who spent 8.00 .Who ever thought to put left field facing the northwest should be shot,no power hitter will ever sign here due to the prevailing winds,a true pitchers ballpark. And we'll have to wait for a sold out game to see how the new sound system affects the game. The speakers are over each section and it seems you can't hear anybody else in the stadium except those in your section.I used to love when Shea was shaking with volume and I don't know if we will get that here.Bullpen situation is assinine, and right field is like Jackie Masons golf course in caddyshack 2. So far ,not impressed.I might have to start rooting for the Yankees if for anything ,1 ,the stadium, 2, the metro north stop at the front door, 3,little league right field fence.
  19. I think if they look it up,SoYo would give Austin a run for its money with St Joes being the hospital of choice. With a little help from mousie of course.
  20. RIP http://www.lohud.com/article/20090324/NEWS...355/1019/NEWS03
  21. Chief, that would be better answered by a member of their band,I know at a minimum they are represented by New Rochelle,White Plains and Easchester.
  22. The Westchester Firefighters pipes extended an invitation to the YFD to march with them and we gladly took them up on it.While we have been to many other parades for the past 4 years ,this was a first for the city parade. It was a good experience from playing in Grand Central to turning onto 5th ave. We'd like to thank them for the opportunity and look forward to working with them in the future.I might have some video of Grand Central i will try to post.
  23. Yeah, but what ride home.Off at Shrub Oak and up Barger St to Bryant Pond, back on Taconic till Peekskill Hollow,up and around through Pudding St and back on Taconic. With no cars in sight,I felt like Kramer with nice luxurious wide lanes.
