Good afternoon everyone, I am trying to help my brother and sister firefighters with their promotional packets. I have the following aerial apparatus questions that I am looking for answers to:
    1) Describe the capacity of the trucks hydraulic system.
    2) Describe the max. hydraulic operating pressure.
    3) Describe how the hydraulic fluid is checked and it's capacity.
Any help and answers is greatly appreciated. I look forward to some of your responses and have a great and safe day.

that statement that rescue83 gave is partially true. being a member of a dept very near by department i never saw a problem with any of their rigs or space issues. i have worked with them off of almost all the engines over the years and never once heard or saw a complaint on their rigs. who couldnt use any bigger apparatus but to say that they had storage/limited stuff is not true. what they had served them well and im sure bigger and better will improve them even more. everyone can improve and thats just what their doing

enough guys, he used poorly chosen words, it is what it is no need to continue to bash and prove him wrong, from what i get its his opinion, hes nobody to say as a fact their unprofessional, we all have our thought s an opinions. some of us in the fire service for years should know better not to reply like that.. to search and bring back this thread from days and days ago is stupid. send him a PM to tell him what you think, all of us who are just on to view and rarely reply dont need to see that, move on he is not as old or in the emergency service as long as some of us are

I am sooo not a fire guy, so feel free to break my chops on this. Would it be unreasonable to stop allowing the building of structures that if on fire, would be beyond the capacity of the local FD?
It would mean only small structures in small towns, and larger structures in large towns. I know there are buildings in my town that we simply could not be expected to handle with what we have. I think the big new Trump buildings in NR and other huge buildings in WP are beyond the capacity of their protecting agencies.
If a developer felt the need put such a concentration of fire load in a single spot to better fatten his bank account, he would need to subsidize the FD in perpetuity. Not a tax break, a tax add-on for the cost of added fire suppression capacity.
Some will say that large fires are what mutual aid is for. I agree. Based on history, a large fire in a single home in my town needs 2-4 MA dept's to fight it. That is fine and that is what MA IS for. Is MA for building a sprawling 250 bed nursing home full of folks that could not walk out on a warm sunny clear day with NO fire? In an area with NO hydrants?
The FD is part of a Town's infrastructure. If the infrastructure cannot support a large structure, be it sewage, water, EMS or fire, than perhaps we ( or more accurately you), the folks who whether paid or volly have stood up and said, "I will handle the fires around here" need to stand up and say, "I'm real good, but I am not 7 floors X 200 X 200 OMD good. Lets make it three story clusters with sprinklers. That we can handle"
What do you guys think of that? I await my lessons.

Why does it matter aside from maybe helping figure out what is wrong with the patient? Forget about how its just wrong to treat someone differently based upon a medical condition, what if they don't know they're carrying some disease. Everyone gets treated the same unless I suspect an infection requiring droplet precautions.

I've worked the same unit as Lenny for the last year. We were partners for a while, and then mutual partners after I changed tours. I only recently joined this board because of him. I've worked in EMS in various places for the past 7 years and I can say without a doubt that Lenny was one of the finest people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He was a consummate professional, an amazing person and one of my best friends. It hasn't yet sunk in that he is really gone forever. It pains me to think about the life that was cut short, and the amazing career that should have been.

It indeed was a great stop by WPFD as only west side of the house i think suffered all the damage as the east was untouched so they got there fast and made a great stop. White Plains also wasnt understaffed if you see the IA they had all three ladder companies there three engines and a rescue they even put spares into service as the manpower either went up or was a last second decision. And lol at (x4093k) that isnt the newest Ladder 32 it is the 2009 one i think are ladder will probably be delayed just like this one was as it is coming from American Lafrance from what im hearing so we might have to sit tight for a while and keep using our modo use what you got and try to go with less.
