My name is Kimberly, I am Christopher's mother. I would like to thank each and every one for your awesome words of encouragement and support. I've been an EMT for the 6 years and one thing I've learned is that I am part of a much bigger family! Before we found out what was causing Christopher so much pain, I thought I could handle anything, but it's a different story when your actually told the news. After Christopher's 1st surgery, the doctor's are going to place a Petrie Cast on him. For those that do not know, it is a cast from the top of the thighs and goes all the way down to the ankles. Both legs will be casted straight and there will be bars forcing his legs apart from each other. He will have to have this cast on for 6wks. Every word you type, Christopher is reading, so please don't stop! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!! I pray you all stay safe during this holiday season. May you and your families share love, peace and happiness.

    Hello Everyone.
After an overwhelming amount of E-mails and phone calls from some of the members here I have decided to let you all know here how Christopher is doing.
He leaves the first week of January for his first surgery and will return home a few days after. His spirits are high right now as he has just returned from doing a candy cane run with HFD riding in "THE BEAST" (HFD, you guys are great and I can't say enough about you! THANKS!).
Christopher has always been a HUGE fan of the fire service. I think the entire point of this post is this...
I would like to ask if you guys could take a few minutes out of your day as this holiday season rappidly approches and write an e-mail or send a quick card showing Christopher how much everyone supports him. This entire ordeal has been very tough for him seeing as he is confined to a wheelchair and cannot do what all the other kids his age are doing. He has been putting up a good front for everyone saying that he is ok and he is happy but we can see the truth in his eyes. The kind words from all of you in the photo thread I posted from his birthday made his day! What do you say guys and gals? Can we help this brave little soldier stay strong? I thank you all in advance.
E-mails can be sent to: wisker.pat@gmail.com
Cards, letters other items can be sent to:

    Thanks again everyone!
and to all who wished well in the other thread, Thank you from Christopher and his family!

Oh Lord, let me die a natural death
Because I don't want to burn.
I have seen so many Lord,
For fresh air they did yearn.
I have held the lifeless body
    Of a little child.
Please Lord, let me die a natural death,
Let me stay around a while.
And while I'm praying to you Lord,
There are others next to me,
Provide an exit from this fate
So we can all be free.
But, if in the line of duty
    I must go this way,
Let me know before I go
    Another I have saved.
    RIP Brother Davies!!
  7. Task Force 7 liked a post in a topic by Just a guy in Covicted Cop Killer Mumia Abu Jamal given life w/o parole
For those of you who aren't familiar with the case, On December 9, 1981 at 0350 hours Philidelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner conducted a traffic stop at the corner of 12th Street and Locust Street. PO Faulkner was attempting to arrest Wesley Cook when Cook's brother wesley (AKA mumia abu jamal who is a confirmed black panther) ran across the street and cowardly and like the piece of s*** that he is, shot officer Faulkner in the back. PO Faulkner was able to fire one round that struck mumia in the chest. PO Faulkner then collapsed to the ground. Mumia abu jamal in a second cowardly cold blooded move then shot officer faulkner 4 times at close range including once in the face.
The backup units arrived 90 seconds after the call for backup and found mumia next to officer faulkner holdig a gun, the gun that was used to murder danny faulkner. Mumia was identified by 4 witnesses as the man who murdered officer faulkner.
Mumia was found guilty in 1982 and sentenced to death. In 1989 the PA Supreme Court upheld the conviction and denied a request for a retrial. The US Supreme Court refused to hear arguments on mumias claims.
In 2008 a federal appeals court in their infinite wisdom ( please note the sarcasm) decided abu jamal should get a new sentencing hearing on the grounds that the instructions given to the jury in 1982 "may have been" misleading.
Yesterday, the Philidelphia DA decided to not seek the death penalty again and instead chose to seek life without parole.
This case had a mountain of overwhelming evidence and this mans guilt is undeniable but it seems that the pressure that was put forth by the likes of susan serandon, ed asner, maya angelou, alec baldwin, the beastie boys, harry belafonte, the black eyed peas, and the city of st. denis in france even named a friggen street after him - a street named in honor of a cop killer - UNREAL.
It is no secret that society sees the lives of police officers as expendable. It seems that today it is socially "hip" to be anti cop.
For those of you who took the time to read this rant I thank you. Very rarely do I let things get under my skin but I see the support for this murderer as a direct assault on myself and on police officers everywhere. Death would have been too good for this murderer but death is what he deserved. This animal gets to live out his life treated like a hero by those around him in jail but where is the justice for danny faulkner who is THE REAL HERO...

On 12/4, the members of Hughsonville FD in the Town of Wappingers helped make a little boys 11th birthday unforgettable. Christopher, the son of a close friend to my wife and I, has been diagnosed with "Leg-Calf Perthies", a bone disorder that has caused the complete deterioration of his right femur. Christopher has been confined to a wheel chair and has recently found out that he will be undergoing the first of several surgeries at Boston Childrens Hospital the week of Christmas. To celebrate his Birthday his family chose to rent the hall at HFD, seeing as Christopher has always loved the fire service. When the members of HFD found out what a fan of the fire department Christopher is they decided to give him a few gifts of their own. Sporting an HFD helmet and a huge grinn, Christopher was pushed through the engine room by the Captian of HFD and given his own personal VIP tour of the station. He almost jumped out of his wheel chair when the Lieutenant pulled "THE BEAST" (45-55 and Christophers favorite truck) into the back lot and sat him in the drivers seat. His eyes lit up as he was lifted into the bucket of the Tower Ladder and his smile could be seen for miles as the HFD members all accepted his challange to a "wheel chair race". Christophers perfect day came to a close with the members of HFD singing "Happy Birthday", having some cake, watching him unwrap his gifts and presenting him with his own HFD patch and T-Shirt (With a picture of "THE BEAST" on it of course).
From Christophers family: "To Chief Glenn Kramer, Assistant Chief Tim Laffin, Captian Ed D'Anna, Lieutenant Trevor Dhalla, Fire FIghter Ryan White and Fire Fighter Chris Baker:
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, you have no idea how much this ment to Christopher and how much you have just helped him. It was so wonderful to see him smile like that today. He was still talking about all of you when we got home. Thank You and God Bless!"
Here are a few shots from the party. I wanted to post this to remind all of us why we do what we do. As the members of HFD showed today, It's not all about getting on the big red truck and running into the devils play ground. It's about the smile on a little boys face when you hand him a helmet and say "blow the horn". Thank you again HFD for making Christophers birthday so special for him. Stay Safe!
If anyone would like to be kept up to date on Christophers journey PM me.

Last week, I was detailed down to the San Antonio area for training. During lunch and after class (half hour window before sunset and going back to the hotel), I managed to get some photos. Most of these were taken with my Canon SD990 IS “Point And Shoot”. Not top quality shots to to a variety of factors, but still I figured I’d share.

Last weekend I did the 5 hour drive to the Phoenix suburb of Glendale for their Fire Prevention Week Parade. This was their 29th annual, and seemed a little smaller than in past years. I still got some good shots, which I'll share here. I got there a little late, so I didn't get my normal shots of the rigs as they lined up prior. Enjoy!!

Washington County EMS (Texas) recently sent one of their Frazer modules out for remounting on a new chasis. Washington County EMS Lt. Jacobs created a very much improved set of specs, resulting in the first Frazer of it's kind without a seperate generator to power the module, as well as a re-engineered A/C system, amongst other things.
