  10. Bruce will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this difficult time. Rest in Peace brother.
  11. I had the chance to attend this open house/tour about 3 or 4 years ago. This is a great event that allows you to see every part of production from the preplanning stages/drafting to the finished product. KME allows you to go through every building and see the inner workings of their plant. Usually at every building there is a rig being put together, whether it's engine mount, paint, or even the ladder or electronics. There is some demos on pumps and arial devices from what i remember. Usually, all who attend bring their respective apparatus and those too are on display. Plenty of ideas to borrow from other departments if you are thinking of getting a rig from KME.
  12. Condolences to the family of PO Perry and to his WPPD family as well. Rest in Peace.
  13. Thoughts and Prayers are with his Family, both at home and the Eastchester Fire Dept. RIP Brother
  14. Bobby is a personal friend of mine and former member of the West Harrison Fire Dept. He was a proud and dedicated member before joining the NYPD. Knowing him, he can't wait to get back to work. Thanks for the thoughts and well wishes. Also, my best to those other officers with him, and to all Police officers, I thank you for what you do each day.
  15. Just heard the NYC Schools are closed tomorrow. 1010wins just reported it and put in on their website. NBC's website http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local-beat/its-the-snowpocalypse-83889822.html
  16. In West Harrison, we have 3 of them. Two of them are used only at a real incidents. Of course, only one at the scene, and the second is a backup. The third is used for training. We have had the SORD now for about 2 years. It is a great tool to have. Ultimately, every situation is different and you may not always need it. As we have seen though, when you can use it, it's a great tool. Definitly helps the memebers get the person out with less hassel.
  17. Here's the LoHud Link http://www.lohud.com/article/2009910200415
  18. I truly enjoy responding up there at 3 AM for wires down during a thunderstorm. It is an interesting place. Most of us if not all of us who lived in town all went up there at one time or another. The best is when a car full of kids drives by the firehouse and asks where is buckout road is.
  19. MY wishes for a speedy recovery!
  20. Lt. Murry, my best wishes to you on a speedy recovery.

  23. Glad to hear. This truly has been a long time coming. My dad was a member there when 74 and 75 were brand new. Best of luck to our neighbors from the north.
  24. Chris, I have noticed Yonkers Marine 1 in a marina in New Rochelle all summer. Is this because of budget cuts that it is not in the water??
  25. What does the ISO Class 1 Rating mean? How does a department achieve such a status? Thanks
