  1. Greenville fire capt. says son was sexually harassed, fired from dept.

GREENBURGH — Members of a local fire department subjected a probationary firefighter to sexual harassment in an effort to force his father, a fire captain, from his job, according to a complaint filed with the state.

Capt. Richard Bruno alleges the Greenville Fire District condoned this behavior toward his son as part of a campaign to push out the 53-year-old firefighter and protect the interests of certain members of the department.

Bruno, a 27-year veteran who is still working for the district, makes the accusation in a complaint filed this month with the state Division of Human Rights, which investigates reports of discrimination

something very ODD going on here

  2. From what I have heard about this electrical fire, unless someone called it in when the problem first started happening it would not made much of a difference. People forget you had 30 MPH winds driving that fire so once flame broke out the theory of fire doubling every minute went out the window.

I have heard of plenty of large fires were paid departments were completely in charge and they still lost a lot. I have heard paid departments cancel mutual aid just to end up calling them back 10 minutes later as they are loosing the building.

No volunteers are not perfect but no one is. In this current world especially in our situation where we have a large mix of paid and volunteer departments we need to stop fighting one another and work with each other to get the job done.

Believe it or not volunteers will support paid firefighters MORE when they are not A**holes back at them.

  3. Congrats & good luck to the new firefighters

  4. Staff Sgt. Todd J. "T.J." Lobraico Jr. 105th Airlift Wing of the New York ANG

Killed last week while fighting the war on terror was brought home today. He arrived at Stewart Air Base where a ceremony was held and then he was escorted to New Fairfield Ct where he will be laid to rest. Along his trip from the airport down Rt 17K to Route 300 to I-84 he was proudly honored by many Fire, Police, & EMS agencies along the way.

I stood with my department and with the following fire departments that were at the Toll Plaza, Beacon, Beekman, Castle Point, Chelsea, Dover, Dutchess Junction, Fishkill, Glenham, Hughsonville, New Hamburg, Roosevelt, Beacon Vol. Amb. town of Fishkill police, village of Wappinger Falls PD, NYSP.

It was an honor to do so and it was nice to hear of the other departments that did the same.

  5. 12 years later gone but will never be forgotten. We still got your back

We remember the 343 Firefighters in NYC that died that day but we should not forget all the Police officers, EMT's and victims on the planes, in the Towers or the Pentagon and especially those who are suffering from or passed away from cancer because they dug the rubble at the site.

Or the K-9's that helped that got sick

  6. I prefer to classify car fires & dumpster fires as "Active fires" as they are not "working" to destroy lives or property (yes I know some people's including my own vehicle would be substantial property). Add other cars or buildings next to such and you have "exposures" now have the building going you have a "Working Fire".

Have a Chicken coop on fire and you have a "Working Chicken (lol ha ha chuckle chuckle) Coop fire"

  8. First question is was the source of the transmission close by or far away? Second radio waves do not provide a complete saturation of an area guarantying reception as an example it's not like being in a ocean where you are surrounded by water and will definitely get wet but like a light rain storm where you will get wet but parts of you will remain dry if that makes sense.

I experience the reception issue often where in one room I will hear Pike County PA loud and clear but in another room with the channel on hold will not hear a thing or I will hear Mamaroneck fire apparatus on calls but will not hear Peekskill (which is a lot closer). It has to do with location and luck.
