Another great loss to the fire service. Arod was a friend, classmate and a brother. He was always there to lend a hand and donate his time. On top of that he was a great firefighter. Like you said Mike, the worst part about this job is that you will bury friends before their time. One thing is for sure though, he is definitely in great company where he is now. Rest in peace Ant, you will never be forgotten.

306 got my vote and will get more. What a disgrace on the City of Yonkers. Spano can justify money for parades, how about taken care of the guys who deserve a lot better.
Let's give the new mayor a chance he's not even in two months yet. Thanks for voting, keep em coming, they deserve it!

That sounds about perfect for cooking up one of those deer! I'd even come down and make you all a venison dinner to die for...bacon wrapped backdtraps...garlic potatoes..cesar sald...veggies....and nice cold....MILK! LOL
Count me in! I have a freezer full of the stuff, no need for road kill.

This is an excellent site for all you ATV riders out there. Lots of info and tech tips.

Actually Lost Trails is quite open. They never shut down. Not sure where you got this information. Perhaps you're mistaking them with "Paragon ATV Park" which closed down due to the landowner not wanting to renew their lease.
The original Lost Trails was closed in August of 2010. Information came right from their website when we were planning a second trip there. What I did not know is that they reopened at a different location in June of this year. Maybe a fall trip is in order.

I have ridden lost trails in PA not bad tons of boulders. There is a club just south of Albany to ride you must pay membership fee and provide proof of insurance.
Lost Trails is no more. Could not pay their taxes is what I was told. Too bad that place was alot of fun.

I thought SeaTow was out of Cold Spring, and their next closest location was NewRo/Sound Shore
Sea Tow Central Hudson is out of Haverstraw Marina.

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but...is that YFD Commish Pagano? If so, looks like the Commish is trying to make the best of things for that young boy.
Great picture for sure.
Yes that is the Commish. Cool pic.

Man sorry to hear this horrible news. The PO's family, friends and co workers are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP.

I also remember this like it was yesterday as it happened very close to home. Never forget our fallen heroes. Thanks Chris.

Wishing a speedy recovery for all of the injured.

RIP Officer Falcone, you are a true hero to all. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Interesting. A lot of rinks however use liquid propane for fuel (or atleast i thought). These emit up to 60% less carbon monoxide. I have been to several activated fire alarms at indoor ice rinks but have never been to an activated CO alarm at an indoor rink with CO detectors. Makes you wonder if they are working...
Lots of hazards at skating rinks to be aware of. Anhydrous Ammonia, lubricating oils, high voltage electricity to name a few. If you have a rink in your district, it would be wise to check it out on field inspection. Have the crews show you the refrigeration room and the location of possible hazards. At the very minimum it makes for an interesting training session.

No, the problem was that the New Apparatus posts were "wiping out" the Protection From the Past and the Rockland & Orange County I/A's. The change I was referring to is stopping that from happening.
Ok, thanks for the reply.
-
Protection from the past, Rockland and Orange I/A's are being taken off of the recent topics section also?
-
I've set it up so the Apparatus Coming Soon forum topics don't show in the recent topics page at the top of the forum.
Does that work better?
Perfect!

Maybe, put them all into the same thread, so it doesn't take up the whole board.

As of Friday 1/30, the City of Yonkers has decided to accept the Safer Grant. The rest of the laid off members are being reinstated and demoted officers will receive their respective ranks back. Looks like this will happen by the end of next week. Thank you to all who made this happen, especially the local 628 executive board. Nice job guys!
